Surely there's a conflict of interest here.

Agreed!

Screw that Tivo crap. In this household, we get up late, don't shower, make a big breakfast, plop our rear ends down, and watch the Bears LIVE, not recorded. There is no time for church in that ritual.

And don't tell me to get up earlier. It's my Sunday. I still enjoy sleeping in on the weekends. Besides, I don't need church. Just football and pancakes.

Hey i love football too, but its like this. Man has to choose what is more important to him. So if you are truly a man or woman of God, you will set your VCR or VDR to record the game(s).

After all, even if my team, (Green Bay) were to win the Super Bowl, in the end, Green Bay or any other NFL or College team cant get you to heaven.

Man was given free choice, so you have to choose my friend. But i would suggest make God your first priority, and as the bible, says, all these things will be added unto you.

God Bless

The Sabbath was never intended to be Sunday. The Jews actually have the correct Sabbath as Saturday. The Muslims only switched theirs to not coincide with the Jews or Christians, so they chose Friday.

That is why we go to church in the morning, and have the rest of the day to rest and watch football.

At my church, the early service is over by 10ish, and the later service is over by 11:30ish.

I have never missed football because of church, and I have never missed church because of football.

He designed church services to end prior to the start of the games.

Good point, I think that Satan changed the day of rest (shabbat) from Saturday to Sunday to cause this conflict.
