we knew of eachother but didn't really talk. Then one day we just started talking all of the time. Within 3 months of talking he was already asking me if i'd go out with him,(but not in a romantic way)at least i didn't think.was i stupid?would a guy do this if he wasn't interested or attracted at all?

How were you stupid? You made a new friend. If you guys talked for three months, maybe you're good friends. There's nothing wrong with him asking you out. You say "not in a romantic way"... You mean he wants to hang out with you? Sounds normal. Or that he wants to take you on a date? Sounds normal, too. Maybe he feels like you guys have something in common that he wants to build on. If you're interested, go for it. If not, make sure to tell him that you're only interested in his friendship. Good luck!

I'm not sure I'm reading your comment section correctly, but I do hope you didn't go to bed with him on the first date. Wait with that part of the relationship as well.
