The fact that we are created in God's image, which give us the ability to create.
You don't see horses inventing iPhones or dogs discovering cures for cancer or dolphins composing symphonies or owls painting masterpieces of art or chimpanzees designing amazing clothing. Only people, created in the image of the Creator to create.

Consciousness. We have the ability to create our own reality, and effectually, our futures. No other KNOWN being is capable of such a feat. Revel in the greatness that is human!

Yes, how to spot...
and not just "consciousness", but specifically "Reflexive Consciousness", or the ability to be AWARE that we are conscious; the ability to contemplate ourselves and what surrounds us...
I think most animals are "conscious"; they "know"...they just don't KNOW that they know. Humans are the only creatures on earth that are Reflexively Conscious, and therefore we "know" AND we KNOW that we know. We are aware of our "knowing".
I wonder if dolphins (porpoises, like Flipper, not mahi-mahi!) are reflexively conscious, or just highly intelligent?? Hmmm...
