See an ophthalmologist right away. the alignment of the eyes should always stay the same. If it was not like that before it could signal a tumor in or around the optic nerve or brain. High blood pressure and diabetes do affect your vision but not the alignment of the eye. Good luck

If one of your eyes suddenly shifts position, it could be due to intercranial pressure... and the fact you woke up with it, hmm sounds like a brain tumour or a stroke. See a doctor ASAP, OR eye doctor, this is too suspicious. It could be a brain condition, an eye condition, or a brain tumour. I'd have to see it to get the idea. If it moves in different ways than your other eye, than it could be a brain tumour, but if its just a lazy eye, maybe you should see an eye doctor for weakness, but if the weakness has spread to one side of your face, ut's probably a brain tumour... I hope I didn't scare you, but you should definitly see a doctor.

What do you mean by out of place, has it moved out or in?

do you see double. If it is sudden in onset and associated with double vision, it may mean paralysis of one of the muscles of the eye.

It needs to be looked at by eye specialist.

How old are you? if you are over 60 the most common cause for deviation of the eye is underlying vascular disorders like blood pressure, diabetes and raised cholestereol

If it was not previously lazy or out of alignment you should see an eye doctor ASAP. Sudden changes in eye position can be indicative of serious systemic disease like hypertension, stroke or diabetes.
