West Point is a US Army military academy.

So most likely he's going to be in the Army, not the Marines.

The term at West Point is 4 years. You either finish in 4 years or you're booted.

Only Army cadets go to West point....what is the reference about being trained as a Marine about? Marines go to Annapolis the Naval Academy. Military academies BTW are designed as 4 year schools.

Marines go to the Naval Academy I think, soldiers go to West Point. The term is four years. Then they are awarded a commission and must serve I think five years in the army at least. But he will be out of West Point in four years max.

Like everyone else said, he won't be a marine, he'll be a soldier. He'll get trained after he graduates in four years. He'll have the opportunity to go to any special schools after he graduates, like air borne, air assault, ect. But after that he'll go directly to his tech training.
