A friend has an ongoing problem with a stalker "ex". In the past, everytime she has tried to have the police handle this guy, she has run into nothing but problems because his dad is a cop. the guy goes to jail and is out with no record of anything ever happening. This cop then turns around and has created false marks on her record leading to arrest and incarceration all based on his false reports - blatant abuse of power. this cop has gone as far as threatening her family in order ot extort a house form her to give to his son. This cop seems untouchable without making her fear for her life. Does anyone know what can be done against this cop in this situation?.. I worry for her.....

document everything, contact your state law enforcement agency. If she doesn't get help, try the federal level. She had better be able to prove everything though. IN every case, documented evidence is great, if its not documented then its hard to prove anything ever happened. documenting could be accomplished with video cameras of his coming by constantly (with date and time on screen), when she comes into contact with the guy or his daddy audio tape the conversation if its legal in your state. NO ONE HATES A BAD COP MORE THAN A COP> IT MAKES US LOOK LIKE CRAP>

The first person who answered this is correct.
Go to copwatch and register, then go to the welcome forum and let them know whats going on and where.
There are some really great people who know exactly how to help your friend out.
You don't want to give any advice that may push her deeper into danger.
So far all the answers I have read have been good ideas but I think someone with experiance in this type of situation would be able to help best.
Best Wishes

Documentation is necessary. Allegations will get you, or her nowhere. There must be evidence of wrong doing. If there are false reports filed, this is a paper trail that can be used. Proving the allegations are false will help to get the ball rolling.
