Why would I want to thank some law breaker that just by being here is lowering the wages for the hard working Americans? I'll share a true story with you, this just happened yesterday and it's an honest to god true story. My husband came home telling me that two guys from his work are leaving because they got called by their former employer yesterday who offered them a $5/hr raise to quit their jobs and work for him again. Those two guys are plasterers, the reason they quit for the guy they were working for was because he refused to pay them a descent wage, he told them either earn as much as the Mexicans or go somewhere else, so they did. Now that the new passed the new law here in Arizona, employers are canning their illegals left and right. Don't tell me they keep the costs down because they don't. They are a tool for cheap employers (ever heard of the rich get richer?).

And oh yeah, I've worked in human resourses (BTW, I'll admit that my desk job is meaningless all I did was make out the checks). Anyway, I could always tell who the illegals were because they would ALL (yes all) claim WAY more dependants then what they really had. When I asked why, I was told "because that way we keep the tax money".

Thanks for your imput dust mite. If you look at the headline, there is a question. I asked a question and gave my opinion. If anyone out there believes I should thank an illegal immigrant, I want to know why.

Hey Ducky, look five questions behind me. And yes it is a true story. I don't generally go around fabricating stories for fun so you can believe it or not.

Why was I cutting checks for them? Hmm, maybe because it was my job. But I guess if I say that I turned my employer in, I'd still lose.

You are absolutely right and now that AZ passed that law, I hope they all flood to sanctuary cities that way all the pro-illegal immigrants can live together with them and they can all be one big happy dis-functional family. In the mean time, I'll keep buying my produce at the same price because most of produce where I live says IMPORTED FROM MEXICO.

My opinion is that the employers are wrong and the illegals are wrong to go along with this, if someone gives you a van and some tools and you break into a house and rob it you wouldn't be let off as being able to just say "oh they gave me the tools, they enabled me", you physically robbed the house, you're own free will. So they are both wrong. As far as low paying jobs, there are people who want them, however if the low paying job companies didn't have illegals to help them be able to pay low wages they would be forced to increase wages and make it better for the people who want the jobs. Any politician who supports a bill to make illegals legal is being paid off by companies that hire illegals or get products from companies that hire them or are just trying to get the mexican vote in elections.

You are absolutely correct! The wages are so low that any American can't survive on yet can't get assistance from the government. They don't do the jobs Americans won't do they do the jobs Americans can't afford to do. They work the low paying jobs, live 20 to a house, and collect government assistance. We sure as hell can't get by with that.
Here's another question for you. I had to call ODJFS for unemployment benefits, the 1st thing I heard was "Press 1 for English". How in the h*** do you get unemployment benefits if you can't speak English or any government benefits for that matter!? Can someone answer that one for me?
Ducky, your an IDIOT. It happens all the time! What planet are you living on?! My husband sees it everyday on job sites, they have had immigration busts down the street from my place of employment and now the Americans are going back to there old jobs. Get a Clue DUDE!
Pukistani, you ROCK!
How about when I call Dishnetwork and have ot press on for English and I get Mujibar and can't understand freak'n word he says. That makes me really angry!

You should thank them for accepting the fact the United States is the best place in the world but that is where it ends. In spite of KoolHELPER’s comments (hidden) we do not need illegal aliens in the United States. KoolHELPER is correct; not all Hispanics in the U.S. are illegal and I do not think anyone believes they are. Not all illegals in the United States are Hispanic either; and that could include a lot of criminals and terrorists! We have been generous in developing laws and programs to allow legal migration and temporary workers into the United States. Those who are here under those programs we should thank as they would thank us for the opportunity. For those who are here illegally they need to be arrested and deported (as our unenforced laws require)! As for babies born to illegals or those on temporary work programs here they should not be considered U.S. Citizens (are babies born to women serving prison terms automatically considered felons?). It is well known and accepted (by all but big business and those politicians supported by big business) that although the illegals work at far less wages (and many get ripped off by the employer) they cost the U.S. far more than they benefit us. They cost our educational system, they cost our medical system, they cost our utilities and landlords, and they use up our scarce resources (an estimated 5 million + gallons of gas a day). The United States should put in place another tax level and for U.S. citizens who work at those jobs thought to be “only fit for illegals” the government should provide free medical insurance, education, housing allowance, and the things most of us have to pay for. If we are going to allow illegals to enter the United States and get these things then we should develop a program for our own citizens giving them equal opportunities that some senators and congressmen would give the illegals. We have enough unemployed citizens we should be making accommodations for them, not illegals. And do not think the employment rate reported by our government is accurate; it does not take into consideration a great number of people who are looking for work but not working and not drawing benefits; the number is probably twice as high as reported. In my state most counties unemployment rate is over 10% but only four counties are represented in the unemployment statistics (4.6%) reported.

The rich get richer by .... (I'm a business owner I should know) .... by keeping their costs down. Cheap labor, cheap materials = lower prices for consumers (bigger profits). Expensive labor & expensive matierials = hurt the consumers pockets (smaller profits). Companies are not going to eat up the new costs of labor... they can just re-locate to other states.
Ever heard of competition? There's plenty of materials that can be bought out of other countries. There's also many countries where jobs can be outsourced..... because if there's no illegals here to do the jobs we'll take the jobs to other countries......... have legal citizens of other countries do it (india, mexico, china, etc.... ).
If you're a business owner would you rather buy a box of strawberries from California for $3 per box or would you buy them from Peru for $1 a box? Peru would be your answer if you are a business owner .... keep costs down & profits up.
You worked in human resources? Not likely, if you did you would know that it's ILLEGAL "release" information pertaining to other people without prior written authorization.

You are wrong (I am being facetious...read on...)because you sound like a "True American Patriot" and republicans like bush and mccain hate you and they want to destroy America as you and I know it.
I agree all illegals should be deported and not rewarded for breaking the law. But tell that to the alcoholic ted kennedy? Or cocaine addicted bush. These politicians are out of touch with reality.
In fact let me go a step further and add we must make English our national language as well. This will curb illegals from crossing our border because they wont be able to function in an English only land!! Plus they will be easily nabbed and deported.
Thank God for Americans like you. Please do write your story to Lou Dobbs. All Americans need to hear these kind of stories. If you need Lou Dobbs address write to me at : baconullah@yahoo.com

They cannot inform what number of unlawful immigrants come to the nation. The complete factor of them being unlawful is they ar undetected, so no-possible inform if there are extra coming.

You will never hear me tell you or anyone else to thank an illegal for anything except for maybe spreading tuberculosis, polio or one of those other diseases we in America vaccinate against whereas 3rd world countries do not vaccinate and therefore harbor viruses that are extinct in our country.
When someone enters this country illegally they bypass the health screenings that are vital to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
No- honey, you are right there is nothing to thank them for except maybe thank them when they leave on their own without us civilians having to drag them out by their hair and pitching them into the Rio Grand.
ADD: If I see one more post about "the illegals grow our produce" I am going to blow chunks. I spent my 4th of July picking cabbage, beans and peppers. you know what- so did my neighbors- Maybe, some folks in your pavement littered cities don't know how to pick a damn tomato- but us out here in the rest of America, don't need an illegal for squat!!

The real criminals here are the employers that knowingly hire illegals at a cheaper rate and keep all wages lower by doing so. Illegal aliens are not coming in droves because of the weather. They are lured here by employers.
