If everyone in this world was an atheist and you daringly came out and said that you are a believer...
What do you think will they do to you?
This is the test of the goodness/moraltiy. What do you think honestly would all those atheists of the world do to you?
Would they accept and respect you (as many claim to do)?

Vince, that was 200 years ago. This is 2007.
I am talking about the present.
I didn't ask what you would NOT do. I asked what you WOULD do.

Well I've been an atheist all my life and I haven't burned any Christians at the stake yet. I doubt I'll start now.
Really, the athiests, pagans, etc. are the most accepting of everyone in regards to religion, color, sexual preference and other factors. I'm surprised you haven't figured this out yet. We're even accepting of Christians as long as you don't try to assert your beliefs on us and change the laws to suit you.

Most Atheist would tolerate the believer because they believe that there is nothing higher than the human.
They may look down upon the believer but more of a pity look then anything else. Considering the believer to be a poor mislead soul. Beyond that there would be not great up heaval.
The reason is unlike organized religions that meet and follow common goals and form common beliefs they feel they must protect. Most atheist don't care about religion so they are much more cliquish. Sticking to smaller groups and they do not ban together well because they don't see the point of fighting over what they see as a fairy tale.
By the way the last witch to be put on trial and convicted was 1944.

This is not a question of "atheist" vs. "Christian." In the inquisition, atheists were routinely burned at the stake, they've been ostracized by society until quite recently, but now we're getting enough media coverage to render us "trendy."
Instead this is a question of pluralism as a value of society. We are all better for having people with different beliefs. However, if those beliefs impinge on others, then they will likely have a reaction against them.
For example, if your hypothetical believer said that everyone other than believers were going to some imaginary hell, then I think the atheists would be reasonably expected to have a negative response to such threats. If, on the other hand, it was simply a belief, unconnected to an evangelical fervor, then I would imagine that they could simply dismiss his beliefs as an eccentricity, similar to people who enjoy eating Steak Tartar.

that depends somewhat on what the believer would do. If he simply proclaimed to be saved by Jesus and created by God, that's cool. If he would start proclaiming the end of the world and denying physical processes like evolution because his book tells him so he would get ridiculed. If he would claim other people should burn forever because of what consentingly do in the privacy of their own homes, he might get prosecuted.
more than an atheist in a religious world, a religious person in an atheist world would be judged by how his words and actions affect the lives of other people. at least, that is how I hope and think it would be.

i'm unlikely to handle the validity of the easy question yet i will take exception to the implication interior the middle of your question that atheists are no longer ethical. you're appearing like atheists are unethical human beings, cheating human beings, vengeful human beings, stingy and egocentric human beings. for particular, some atheists are this manner, possibly even a lot, yet to advise that it is the character of all atheists is in basic terms downright incorrect and bigoted. faith isn't the sole source of goodness. in basic terms about all religions declare the monopoly on distinctive characteristic yet all the religions that do that are thoroughly deceptive. someone would be an exceptionally honest and hardworking and affected person and beneficiant person devoid of believing in a god/or God.

Yahoo answers aside, atheists tend to be an accepting bunch and tend to keep their mouths shut when it comes to other peoples beliefs.
I think the most that said person would get where a pat on the head (poor you) and possibly a referral to the mental health authorities.
Certainly not what would happen the other way round.

Probably put you in a psych ward or drug you till the voices stopped telling you to do things.
Why would we care what you believed, as long as you left us alone? Why would you need to announce your beleifs?
I already accept that many people are delusional. They think I'm evil or simply misguided. We get along great, so long as we accept the other person is a human being and not a sub-species.

I accept the existence of Theists, but I certainly do not respect them. I would expect the same treatment in your highly fantastical scenario.
