Actually, it isn't. Its grammar is quite simple compared to that of other European languages, its syntax is also simple. The most difficult part is its pronunciation, but we are given far more chances to hear english words pronounced (cinema, music, Tv, etc) than we get to hear other languages spoken , so I think it shouldn't really be a problem.

English is spoken by many through out the world. But speaking English correctly is only done when one speaks English with other English people constantly. It changes and evolves continuously and anyone who speaks English as a first language can tell if someone has grown up speaking something other than English. This is not to say that it cannot be learned correctly, only that it is complex to the point where it is very apparent when it is not spoken in a natural format.

... i think of humanity would stand to lose, er, -a lot- if English became the sole language interior the international. luckily, it won't. English is a concise, pragmatic language, very stable for employer, identifying to purchase and advertising and understanding purposes. It -is- "the international language", the main uncomplicated secondary language discovered. it incredibly is going to -no longer- override all different languages, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that. anybody everywhere has too a lot experience of Nationalism those days to allow that to take place. What you're sensing is comprehensible, yet relative. as properly, via great cultural variations, in spite of if English wiped out all different languages, it would morph and ruin off into new dialects to healthful the guy society's desires.

English may be the most complex language in the world even though "complex" is a somewhat undefinable term when you're comparing languages to each other.

Nevertheless, English does have the largest lexicon of any language in the world, approximately one million words, and it is also a very precise, heavily nuanced language. This makes it more difficult to learn and use correctly too.

no, it has also to do with the grammar and english grammar is really easy compared to other languages. Even German and Russian are complexer. Oh and I think English was very easy to learn as a 2nd language.

I don`t think so... For me, which make a language complex is the grammar, not the number of words . And English grammar is easy.

most people, especially the native speakers of the English language along with the xenocentrics, think that English is not a complex language. well, lets try to read these words:

though
rough
through
thou

see how the phonemes of ou vary?

No. I believe that honor goes to Greek. English is, however, one of the most inconsistent languages, which is what makes it difficult to learn as a second language.

umm no it is the easier language to learn.
I've learned it along with Spanish and even though I speak French, Spanish was harder than English.
Arabic and Russian languages are the hardest to learn.
And French pronouciation seems very hard to pronouce for peoples who are not speaking it.
