my girlfriend is away in spain until july 30th and i am taking advantage of the 24 days i have to work out. i started working out yesterday but my chest and arms are very weak. i started off with a redbull and a healthy breakfast and then had eggs after the gym. what should i do to become more 'built' from the arms and chest? protein shakes? creatine? etc. (within 24 days)

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

You're not going to work miracles in 3 weeks, so don't get too disappointed if you're not Mr. Olympia by then!

Second, if you're doing this to impress your girl, remember that most women are less impressed with bulging muscles than men are. Most of them prefer a "Brad Pitt" sort of look. Of course, your girlfriend is a unique individual with her own personal tastes.

Now, what you're trying to do is build upper body muscle tissue. You need heavy exercise, low repetitions for that. For each exercise, you want to lift so much weight that you can only do 8-12 repetitions per set. If you can do 13 reps, bump the weight up. You can even go up on the weight and down on the reps if you'd like, 3-5 reps is about the limit. But be careful with those ultra-heavy weights that you don't injure yourself. If you're new to this, stick with 8-12 reps per set.

Do 3 sets of 8-12 reps, with a minute or two of rest in between. Do all 3 sets of one exercise before moving on to the next.

Rest at least 48 hours between workouts. You won't get any bigger any faster from working out more that 4 times per week. You need time between workouts for your muscles to rest, rebuild, and grow.

You probably won't need to do more than about 5-6 different exercises, if you're concentrating on your upper body. Consider adding some lower body exercises to the workout (they won't hurt, and will help send overall GROW! signals to your body), but no more than about 10 combined upper and lower body exercises per workout. If you're really working to get that last rep of every set in like you should, this will be plenty!

Nutrition - you need adequate protein, but unless you're just very scrawny all over, you won't need to supplement your diet with fancy products. Just avoid excess fat - you want lean cuts of meat, chicken breast, fish, that sort of thing. You'll need some carbs for energy, but don't overdo that either. And try to eat small meals throughout the day, instead of having just 2 or 3 really big ones. Avoid the junk food...potato chips are not your friend here!

Long term, do enough cardio to stay healthy, but don't overdo it when you're trying to build bulk. Those hour-long bike rides burn muscle, they don't build it.

Good luck!

You need some Beefcake 2000 or 3000. Beefcake, Beefcake. Don't get this, watch South Park.
