You're going to get a lot of rude answers on this.

I hope you're genuine on this, because I'm going to give you a genuine answer.

Here's what it takes to be a Christian:
1. Believe. It doesn't stop there, though.
2. Accept that Jesus died for you, and that God sent Him.
3. Give EVERYTHING to God. I don't mean dump all your money into a church, I mean laying everything open to God in prayer.

Some people still do the things you mentioned and claim to be Christians. However, when a person becomes a Christian, they are filled with the desire to let their entire life be a testimony for God. For example, when I became a Christian, I didn't HAVE to stop swearing. But I did. I just don't have the desire to swear anymore. I didn't HAVE to stop getting drunk, but I did. I just don't have the urge to drink a lot anymore. Still have a beer or two every now and then, or a glass of wine with dinner, but my days of heavy drinking are over, and I don't miss them.

Oh, and Catholics are Christians too. It may be packaged differently than Protestant Christianity, but it boils down to the same thing.

And if you already ARE a Christian, then you would be a "new creation." Christians still have to withstand temptation, and sometimes fail, but for the most part, our sinful urges are put to death.

You would know if you are a Christian because one only becomes a Christian when they have had a divine revelation of Jesus. And you don't have to stop doing any of those things, insomuch as you will still have free will and a choice, but the Holy Spirit inside of you will be convicting you of your sin every time you do it.
As for catholics, I'm sure most of them are christians. They have just tagged a lot of extra stuff on to the basic scriptures and made the faith look legalistic, which is the type of thing Jesus spoke out against.

DON'T BE FOOLED!!! Christianity is not a religion, it is and should be a lifestyle... Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is not a hard or bad thing to do. Do not be controlled by religion. Have a relationship with Christ and you will begin to want to live "right." You will want to do good and accept a higher standard of living...A standard will no longer be something you are trying to live up to, but rather something you refuse to live below... The bible says all should walk out their own salvation. Nobody has the right to judge your salvation...that is between you and God. You let Him tell you what your salvation will/should entail and allow Him to become Lord. It's a choice you have to make and only you can make it. Pray about it. :-)

Your not a true Christian by your own actions. And yes being a Christian and Catholic is two different things in my opinion. Now if you were Catholic the things you do would allow you to be Catholic- because the Catholics in my family do the same things as you. They believe that all they have to do is go to confession to their priest and all is well. And to a degree that is right but, to be a true Christian you wouldn't want to willfully sin like that. And God does forgive but to confess and then keep doing those things is not of God and wrong.Your suppose to turn from sin not keep on doing it .

I don't think there are any commandments against porn or alcohol. As long as shouting abuse does not include slander you should be alright (though I expect abuse against one's one parents would be discouraged under C. 4, Honour thy father and thy mother). Scrapping should be fine too, providing it doesn't end in murder. I suspect you would know if you were Christian because you would believe in God and particularly Jesus being His son on Earth, and if you are Catholic you get a whole lot of extra freebies such as sacraments and incense.

Well I think self control is big on the list. But that's not how to become a Christian. That should be part of the outcome.

The only way is in Jesus. So take the ball and run with it.

Christians are sinners but they believe that THE LORD JESUS CHRIST has washed away all their sins, in the past, today and even the future through HIS BLOOD AND HIS PASSION ON THE CROSS as mankinds Savior and HE is THE GOODNEWS OF SALVATION. Also satan is the author of all sins. With these, please read on to broaden your Christian faith. Thus, the Prophets of old or even today can see spiritual vision. It is because in human sense, they have a third eye so to speak. This 3rd eye is actually their sense of wonder. And they see wonderful creations all around them like the light, the planets, the sun and the universe. And the micro world say men living in the billionth- billionth- billionth of a second, yet we do not perceive this time occurring:before our very eyes or a billion, billlion of years which we dont have the opportunity of experience and perceive them as well. And these are only examples of the servants of GOD seeing them with their third eye or their sense of wonder. Thus, at this point in man's history, we have a book of wonder called the Bible and the christianity that it espouses. Additionally, Christianity is a belief of life beyond the grave; a life even unto eternity or eternal life. And THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the WORD OF GOD about these divine plan for mankind. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the MESSIAH who have redeemed mankind from eternal death or damnation. HE is mankind's savior. For witnesses other than Christians, the Prophet Mohammad in a vision was brought by Archangel Gabriel to heaven and saw THE LORD JESUS CHRIST standing in the right hand of GOD; while Mohammad remained with the audience in a heavenly assembly among the Prophets. St John the baptist was also a witness of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST when he declared HIM as THE LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sins of mankind. And another witness is the Prophet Isaiah 9:6 that states that the one who will be born of a virgin woman will be called MIGHTY GOD, WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR (HOLY SPIRIT), EVERLASTING FATHER and PRINCE OF PEACE. These are one of the many reasons that one should believe the Bible and Christianity as well. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD.
