I am getting married in October and I choose to have white gold for my engagement ring. Now we are going to choose the wedding bands. My band obviously is going to be white gold and he wants to wear yellow gold. Is this proper for a traditional wedding?

You should each pick whatever ring you like. It doesn't matter if they look alike or not.

Rings do not have to be matching. My engagement ring is platinum and I wanted a jacket instead of a traditional band. The jacket is white gold and diamonds. My husbands ring is pallidium and silver. Its very unique and the style is called mokuma gane. They have several different types of metals. They have combination of yellow gold and white gold, too. Check it out. Definately unique.

my fiance wanted the same thing. my engagement ring and wedding band are both white gold. he wanted his yellow gold at first then he changed his mind. its not a rule you can have two different styles, colors whatever its your choices. I like the idea of having the same color ring for the pictures. good luck

Get whatever you want. If one of you doesn't like the ring you're wearing, you probably won't wear it! My friends just got married and her band is white gold and his is black platinum! I really don't think it matters. (Personally, I like matching rings, but that's just my opinion and if my bf didn't want a matching one, I certainly wouldn't force him to! After the wedding, nobody will even notice.)

You guys don't have to have the same color. I'm getting white gold and he is getting yellow gold. So it's whatever color you want you have to wear the ring. Congradulations.

As long as he wears the ring, what does it matter? You should both have rings that you like. Mine is platinum and diamond and my husbands is white and yellow gold, diamond cut. We inscribed the inside with our special message to each other. They are perfect, even if they don't match.

there is not any rule. some couples pick matching wedding ceremony rings. now and returned they have diverse tastes in rings and placed on diverse ones. it is a private determination. Jewelers sell wedding ceremony instruments that incorporate the engagement ring and his & hers wedding ceremony bands. or you will desire to purchase all 3 rings one after the different based on your alternatives.

Of course, that's totally fine. Oftentimes, guys prefer yellow gold because it's classier, and more durable.
