Health care is by no means a way that can extent people's life. Think of the body as a piece of metal. If you bend it long enough, it will weaken and break. Our body can't repair itself so we can be brand new, our muscles and tissues fail and lose it's abilities as we get old. No current way of medicine could alter that.
People in the U.S. generally do not eat as healthy and have more stress than people such as Canadians, or French. If you look at the Japanese who usually have a longer life expectancy, they eat lots of greens and do not stress out often. This will protect the body from wearing down.

Japanese live longer than Canadians or French. To follow you analogy, does Japan have better health care than Canada, or France? The fact is that there are many factors that affect lifespan including healthcare and most have been pointed above.

More Americans are obese than fit. A very small percentage of Americans are health conscious. Much of middle America consumes white foods, many of which are carbohydrate rich and include sugar, salt, flour, potatoes, pasta - and do not exercise. As a result, they develop disorders, such as high blood pressure and diabetes that cause the body to work harder, thus decreasing one's life span.

well, thats an easy question.
first of all, americans eat FATTY FOODS, and a lot of it at that! fast foods, rather than cooking fresh stuff themselves..and they usually get food from cartons and just heat `em up in ovens.
2nd, americans dont get enough exercise!
3rd, well this is only a theory of mine, but i`ve noticed that when i hear about anorexia and bulimia cases its always in the united states, and not in other countries...americans tend to do yoyo diets that their nutritional intake are being yoyoed too..
asians are the ones who live the longest...probably coz its hot over here that we dont need to go to saunas to sweat..plus, even though fast foods are starting to get increasingly popular here, we still prefer to eat homemade meals and eat fastfoods when the occasion calls for it..

US health care is more or less controlled by insurance companies. Many people can not afford expensive insurance.

The US has the best healthcare money can buy. If you can't afford it (which many people can't), it isn't as good.
