That depends a great deal on where you live. However, it can and does work but it is going to be a problem for both until society accepts mixed relationships. You all can deal with the problem by choosing where you will reside. If you are nice decent people, you will be accepted in time. I'm white but have some wonderful black (please - not colored; I'm from the deep south) friends.

You're "coloured"? Where are you, South Africa? Nobody says that here.
Anyway, it will be a problem for some people but you have to get used to it. My biggest concern, if I were you, would be finding out if that white boy is in love with you too and not just experimenting.
Don't trust people who just say, "do want you want," but refuse to acknowledge that there are going to be some problems you'll face in society. They're not serious about helping you when they act that way.

Years ago I would say yes. But no longer is this true. If you are under 20 years, then I change my no to NO. (What I am saying is that the younger generations are more tolerant and encouraging of interracial relationships).
His family may be square. Lots of white folks are (and I am white). The point is - just ignore any negativity, don't focus on it. He will be happier with you if instead of saying you hate the way his mother acts, you say she is nice and just ignore her square world view.

It shouldn't matter.... but it will. People of all races are too wrapped up in themselves still and they continue to propigate the problem because the parent teaches the child... and so on. Until all people can let the race thing go and just recognize people for who they are, there will always be issues.

A lot people see inter racial dating as someone being a sell out... but love knows no color or race. It hits when you least expect and takes over every fiber of your being. Love this person and be honest witht them... and you will realize that God made all humans equal. I know god has someone for me.. I do not care who they are or what race they belong to, because I see beyond the physical.... you should do this also.

if you two like eachother, then no. but other people might make a big deal out of it. although racism isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, some people truly do think it is wrong to mix races. but like i said, if you to really do care for eachother then it won't be something that will get in the way at all.

Girl, everyone of us is of one color or another but does it really matter what shade of dark or light you are,, or he is on the outside, when what really matters is what is on the inside? If you two have something very special then hold on to it and who cares what the rest of humanity, black, pink, purple, or white have to say about you two?
