As an agnostic, I have no religious beliefs! I like R&S and expend much time here because, prior to discovering this category, I was concerned I might be the only one questioning organized religion. I had no idea that there were so many atheists and nontheists in existence, and I am delighted to learn that there are! My quest for answers to the enigmas of life is unending and fluid. For my novel of Atlatntis, I invented a deity (or he revealed himself to me!), but I am equally a skeptic, always questioning dogma. I doubt I shall change in that regard, thus participation in R&S has not influenced or challenged my views, but, rather, has provided me access to the concepts of others which I find interesting. I will always trust myself to discover my own answers.

I would say to some degree both.
My faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior has been confirmed over and over. I am only challenged in the sense that sometimes I think I would do well to brush up on some of my past studies of other religions, review some of my past studies of philosophy, biology, astronomy, physics, and (the E-word), it wouldn't challenge my faith, but refresh my memory so that I can at least recall some of my "arguments" against an Almighty God.
What has happened is I see the same dissension I had and I think... nothing changes. Amazing not a single new argument has emerged.
Therefore, I am continuously affirmed in my faith in Jesus Christ.

It hasn't necessarily challenged my beliefs, and I can't say that it's validated them either.. only I can validate my beliefs.. but, it's been an interesting experience. I've certainly learned a lot about topics I'd never expect.. science, astronomy, politics, atheism, and most of all .. human behavior.

Validated, before I came here I didn't think anyone had a theology bearing any resemblence to my own, now I have realised there are others with SIMILAR beliefs albeit not the same. I take some comfort in this.

Validated. If I hadn't been on R&S then it would have taken me years to find out how Jews view their god and how different it is from the christian view. They have almost nothing in common, and Jewish belief does not need a 'savior' for humans to be forgiven of sins, not even for non-Jews. This whole "Jesus, son of God, died for our sins" thing really is Greeks and Romans mixing their religious beliefs with the Jewish belief, and has no basis whatsoever in the Hebrew Bible. Unfortunately, Christians will never come to terms with that. They'd rather keep pretending they have a true religion and totally ignore anything outside their belief system.

The participation in R&S has both challanged as well as validated my beliefs in my religion. More ever it has exposed me to those diverse persons of different faiths whose identity is hidden behind the cryptic logos but speak about themselves and their beliefs, of whatever kind they may be.

Both.
The more my beliefs get challenged, the more I find the Faith is correct. I must continuously make course corrections. My Faith is very deep.
I will never know the complete Catholic Faith while in this world.

Hello The Road Not Taken.. :)
I have been here since Dec. 2005..
Being here has not challenged my beliefs, but rather it has strengthened them..
To Love Everyone as Jesus would Love them.. :)
I have come to know many different faiths as well as non-believers..Pangel, Kallan, Sean (Jim Darwin), Acid Zero, Earth Girl, Heron by the Sea, Betteriage, Chicky, Don H, Squirrel, Godzilla, Raven, Red Queen, Endora and many others..

Since no one one here has ever given me a credible reason why a god should exist. My lack of religious beliefs remains validated.

Don't have any.
I just do what I can to fight silliness on the part of anyone.
An equal opportunity anti-basher, who still wants the bashers to speak up. After all, I love free speech. How else will they learn whatever the truth is, or at least how to behave politely?
