Wow Ariel, you upset people almost as much as I do. LOL
It has been a while since I read the account in Genesis, but if memory is working, Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, but did not eat of the tree of life. God cast Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden and placed Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned e everyway, to keep the way of the tree of life protected.
God cast Adam and Eve out of the garden so they would not eat of the tree of life and live forever.
As a former Christian I can honestly say that it is held by the majority of Christians that the tree of knowledge and tree of life were real trees whose fruit could produce either knowledge of good and evil or eternal life.
I am amazed that a very good many of your answerer's do not know this.
Keep going and you may start receiving hate mail like I do. LOL
Most people think the tree that Adam and Eve ate from was apple, but if it was pot they ate it instead of smoked it.

You're confusing the Tree of Life with the Tree of the Fruit of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, which is the one mankind ate from.
The Tree of Life was also in the Garden but it was to give everlasting life, and when Man fell due to eating the other fruit, an angel was put there to keep man away from the Tree of Life, lest he live for ever in a fallen (doomed) state.
The Tree of Life (not the other one) reappears in the last book of the Christian Bible, Revelation, in the New Jerusalem promised for those who believe and overcome.
Smoking weed can be a bit like eating the fruit of the Knowledge, in that you become hyper aware of the spiritual, followed by the awful realisation that there 's nothing you can do about who you've become except be stuck in it.
But the peace you sometimes get next day is God's grace, where in your dreams you've given up trying and He picks you up and shows you that's the whole point!

Might this tree also be known as the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? If so, then it would have to be an apple tree since Adam and Eve ate from it.
Other than that, your theory is an interesting one. It would have to be a pretty big pot plant. LOL! My question would be why didn't God want them to have any spiritual knowledge? It makes me think whoever wrote the bible put that in to throw us off track from what could be the real reason since the bible has been written by many men and re-written many times over...

Not a reasonable assessment. If you replace the Utopian international of A&E to suit cutting-edge instances, you might think a global with out ailment, wherein no man or woman is hungry, soreness or homeless. Imagine if God truthfully gave the impression, granted all this or even supplied each and every man or woman or household a unfastened house that rate not anything to preserve. What could occur? About 10 mins after God was once performed, any one could say, "hi there, how come that man bought the condo with the rather well view", persons could begin combating, killing each and every different and complaining that God did not care. So I bet a reasonable assessment of God to mom and dad could be if the mom and dad did the whole thing inside their vigor to preserve bleach from the child however the child breaks into the friends condo, steals an ax, after which spends an hour smashing open the cupboard wherein the bleach is locked so he can drink it.

Your question shows a misunderstanding of the Tree and its purpose. It is not that God did not want them having an understanding of good and evil. They were just not ready for that knowledge at the time.
Have you notice that every child is born with all the "plumbing" needed for sex? Yet they are not physically or emotional mature enough to use it. They have a lot of growing to do before the are ready to understand or use it. Forcing it on to a three year old would be a criminal action that would probably scar the child for the rest of their life. Yet there should come a time when that child is ready to enjoy the pleasures and intimacy of such a relationship. If they did not, we would wonder what is wrong that they remain a 40 year old virgin.
So it was with the Tree. It was there because there would have come a time when they were ready to eat from it. But they needed to do a lot of maturing, get some life experiences, spend time with God learning about him, and understand the consequences of moral decisions before they would be ready to experience the knowledge of good and evil.
Had man waited, he would have had the maturity and education to always be able to make the right decisions. But because he ate of the fruit - take that knowledge before he was ready to properly handle it, he and all of his descendents since have been making a lot of dumb, immoral, harmful and selfish decisions every since. Then is why the world is in the mess it is today.
So the Genesis events have nothing to do with "pot" or any type of drugs.

Actually, I think there is something to this theory. I am a Hermetic Qabalist, which means I have a working knowledge of the Tree of Life. I discovered the benefits of cannabis while contemplating and meditating on the Tree (all Qabalists are expected to paint their own depiction of the Tree in the correct colours), and I can say I made MUCH MORE progress in my understanding of the Tree WITH cannabis than I did WITHOUT it. This method does NOT preclude doing one's study and research in any way, it merely ENHANCES the contemplative faculty and the mental capacity for meditation. There is a REASON why yogis in India smoke the "ganj", and I found it out FIRST HAND. The only catch is, (and this is VERY IMPORTANT) you cannot have it BOTH WAYS. If you use it for "occult" research purposes, you CANNOT then use it in any other context, i.e. merely "recreational"; you are liable to unbalance your mind SEVERELY. You have been WARNED.

No, the Tree of Life is only mentioned by God in the idea that if Adam and Eve were to have eaten of it, the would become as one of the divine beings. I.e, angels.
They ate, it is said, of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Again, this didn't give them full knowledge of all things, more so it gave them concience and morality.
Its biblical point at which humans ceased to be mere animals and became semi-divine.
Sorry friend, but there have been many people try and use the bible as an excuse to use pot. None of the passages I've so far seen are both correct and used in true context.
Your theory has neither.

When the bible speaks of partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you are reading what is called a metaphor. Knowledge of good and evil is a metaphoric reference to judgment. When you judge something you attempt to determine if it is acceptable or not. In effect you are deciding if it is good or evil from your point of view.
Once we were just like the animals and recognized that everything in the garden that God had given us was good. At some point we started to judge some thing as being better than others are. This set up a situation where something’s were more appealing to us than others. We started wishing for these things and were no longer happy with some of the other things in the garden.
This is what is referred to as the fall of man, or separation from God. Some references actually call this the detour into insanity. This self-induced separation from the knowledge of the perfection of god’s gifts to us was never shared by the animals. They were too smart to fall for this silly idea and were not fooled by the ideas of good and evil. For this reason they exist along side of us still experiencing the perfection of the garden. While we have excluded ourselves with our ideas of judgment. This is a truly fascinating subject that has many interesting facets. Including how to reverse the process and return to the original state. If you feel the need to discuss it further send an email.
Love and blessings.

Have you ever heard of a parable?
Do you know the meaning of the word?
Do you know what an allegory is?
Since you're laughing, I assume this question is a joke, though, right?
