Why is that when a christian/jew/muslim etc. says their god exists because they have faith they think that's perfectly reasonable, but when I say I have faith in an invisible pink flying unicorn that rests on the rings of saturn and occasionally rapes catholic priests they think I'm being ridiculous. Neither beliefs seem to require proof when faith is involved, so are they al just being selfish?

What are you talking about Elaine P, the pink flying unicorn has touched more hearts than anything else, and even ended the Holy Crusades and the Dark Ages. She just doesn't want you to know she exists and she's powerful enough to make sure that happens. Only a chosen few know of her existence, such as myself.

When one believes in an "invisible pink flying unicorn that rests on the rings of saturn and occasionally rapes catholic priests", that all it is - a believe.

It takes more than mere believe to have FAITH in something. Faith entails the worship of that which the faithful person believes.

You might believe in the invisable pink unicorn, but are you worshiping it as a god. . . . ? I didn't think so.

People who profess Faith in God, not only believe - they worship. So, the question is, "why is faith different than mere belief?"

As human beings, we have the capacity to believe in certain things that we cannot see, reason, or rationalize.

Human beings do not possess the ability to have faith. Faith is a gift from God. Any person who professes belief in God and demonstrates this belief via active worship, has accepted the Gift of Faith from God.

This is why so many people use the fact they have faith as self-evident proof of God's existance. If there was no God, no one would possess the ability to put faith in a Higher Power of any kind.

When you think about it, it's not "my faith", or "your faith" - it's God's on account of the fact it originates from God, not some invisable pink unicorn.

As with any gift, Faith can be rejected, or accepted but abused and/or misused. That's why this world is full of people with different ideas as to what constitutes belief and worship of a Higher Power.

Humanity has always sought to answer the fundamental questions of existence and purpose for existence, as well as to explain the natural phenomena that occur such as floods, fires, and earthquakes. Faith in a universal creator with a reason for these things beyond our understanding helps some people to cope. But pink flying unicorns do nothing to ease the pain and confusion that humanity has felt, probably since the first of the species stood upright and regarded the stars.

I cant believe you really think that a pink flying unicorn exists on the rings of saturn. That's just totally stupid, the only place he rests is on the dark side of the moon where people then think hes invisible coz they never see him but they know hes there.....Well you started it.

Because there is no such thing as an invisible pink Flying unicorn. Tranformers are real, Optimus Prime is the the robot I have faith in.

;) i believe in the pink unicorn 2 :)---)
Anyway...i think religion is good to the extent it gives people hope and allows them to have faith in themselves by giving them guidlines to how to live their life...
but that is also a bad thing....religion can over-rule peoples life and stop them from doing things that are perfectly ok....the pink unicorn story could be true:) but because it hasn't been publicised it isn't seen as appropriate....maybe if you started building places dedicated to it, dressing in strange clothes, walking around the world and writing a book it will become the main religion :D

We don't like to have something like faith questioned because faith is a very tenuous thing. There are, of course, many religious people of varying types who are perfectly capable of discussing rationally their faith and are strong enough to accept challenges to it without feeling that their faith has been shaken. Live and let live. I am a "non believer" but I get a little tired of other atheists are so... religious... about spreading their non-belief. It's rather ironic, don't you think?????

You can have faith that your car can drive itself to the store without you & even get your groceries in the store, But does that mean it is true, Afraid not. If you want to believe in a pink unicorn, go ahead, But as the bible says, EVERY MEN/WOMEN works shall be made known

After you discover the Lost Texts of the Unicorn, you will be proved right! This ancient tome will prove to the world that the being you worship is THE GRAND ALMIGHTY and that we are all descendants of Saturn.

Read the Roman historian Tacitus----he was a noted historian of his day and is referred to by many historians today. Even Tacitus comments on the life of Christ.

He somehow missed all about the pink unicorn. Why did you choose pink by the way?

In Christianity there is truth-----in pink unicorns---Im afraid to say.
