There are many members here who daily spout crap about killing all Muslims, invading all Muslim countries and deporting all Muslims from America. This is a totally stupid, moronic idea and not all Muslim countries were involved in the 9/11 attacks and to be honest I'm not sure any were. There is the theory that our govt. actually planned and initiated it so we could go to war and yes it was for oil and votes. Muslims are a peaceful, loving, respectful people and are as much against the terrorists as everyone else and it's time for other countries to realize this and quit treating them all like criminals. I have to disagree with BobBob about attacking countries because of their policies. Maybe we don't agree with what they do, but what right do we have to attack those countries and impose our laws on them.

Well the logical thinking at that time was to go in for the big terrorists, but yes this is the only reason why Iraq was attacked ... The ground being paved by those pre-invasive tactics unknown to the common man and the masses.
Otherwise why would one barge into some ones else's home. What have we achieved by invading Iraq? Isn't that enough thought for all of us to ponder about.

Im sorry for that child but someone has not taught him well. Jihad is a struggle within yourself. Its a personal struggle. I have jihad all the time. When you are defending yourself, you are supposed to defend through the pen, through peaceful means. Obviously the muslim govt does not understand the Quran very well or else the wouldn't be murdering or killing themselves. Someones gonna have a little surprise on the day of judgement. As for the american govt planning these attacks or not stopping the terrorists from attacking, I don't know but i have heard of these charges. The only time muslims are supposed to defend themselves through physical means is in very serious cases. Even for that there are boundaries. They can't hurt women and children or innocent people. They can't torture the prisoners of war but treat them well. They can't burn down vegetation of the enemy because that would hurt the innocent people's source of food. there are so many other things that they just are not practicing. peace

Nelson stuffed up there, didn't he?
The invasion of Afghanistan was probably justified, although it was predictably a quagmire that would require an intense effort to get a stable functioning government happening in a country that hasn't really had one for the last couple of thousand years.
I could even wear the first Gulf War: Saddam's aggression against Kumait was an incursion that couldn't be tolerated without much greater ramifications.
But the latest Gulf war was sheer madness. I have no doubt that Bush and his allies, including Blair and Howard, had absolutely no idea of what kind of war they were committing to. That's scary.

The whole thing sickens me, personally. The fact that we attacked a country unprovoked goes completely against what our founding fathers wanted here. We had a laissez-faire policy in place until wwII and we should return to it.
I am ashamed at what we've done in Iraq.. we had no right to attack a country that had not declared war on us, that had no "weapons of mass destruction" and who had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11.
Why didn't we attack the Saudis? Every one of the 9/11 terrorists was from Saudi Arabia, yet we did nothing to them.
If we're that dependent on oil, we need to find alternate fuels and stop trying to bully all the other nations into giving us our fix. I'm saddened by the entire affair.

Attacking any country in response to a terrorist attack by a small handful of fanatics is about the dumbest thing Bush could have done. Now we're all paying for his stupid reaction.
I can only assume it was dumb arrogance on his part to treat this attack as an act of war, simply because it never entered his head that the US military was not the tool for the job - like hammering a nail with a H-bomb. Idiot.

Of course that is why Iraq got attacked...or at least one of the reasons. Can we say, personal vendetta (Bush Jr. defending Bush Sr. etc).
I am glad you brought what he said to our attention.
Yes, some ppl think EVERY MUSLIM country should be attacked. Of course many people still think Iraq was behind 9/11 too. LOL
And why haven't we gotten BinLaden yet, even if you think there are other people that need to be caught, I cannot understand why everyone seemed to have forgotten him!

I always thought that after 9/11 that the Americans went into Afghanistan. The reason we went into Iraq was to remove Saddam Hussein (not sure about the spelling) and put a duly elected government in place. Please someone tell me if I'm wrong. I think Iraq was a different issue. It was Bin Laden they were after.

well U.S is sort of in Afghanistain. but you bring up a great point. of course it was about oil. i mean does anybody really believe it was for the liberation of the iraqi people. there's more countries without oil that needed to be liberated from a cruel leader. but iraq was just a scape goat for them to go and attack it because it was the 2nd or 3rd largest oil reserves.
