Most of the people are wrong or are just guessing. You really need to look it up in the manuals because they have charts for the correct amount of rows for a specific amount of medals.

standard for most services would be 3 rows of 4. go to rackbuilder.com to help with the order. Then you might want to pull out your regs for wear of the uniform and refresh your memory. Anyone with 12 medals has been in long enough to know how to wear the uniform.

He didn't see any active service i.e. in a War but he did serve in the Navy for a number of years and undoubtedly earnt a few or his medals then and he ddi work his way up. You don't just get medals from serving in a war zone, you get extra.

OK OK, if you have 12 medals you should not be asking this question. So I will not dignify you with an answer.

Just one request, if you want to put on a uniform and want to pose as a military member, remember that is it punishable by federal Law to impersonate a government official.

3 Rows of 4. Put your best medal in the upper left hand, and descend them in that order right to left, all the way down.

wait a second..i believe i saw someone write to put your best award first. NOT!

you're not saying which branch of service.

i'm wondering, if you are indeed a bona fide service member, why don't you know this information anyway? ESPECIALLY having 12 medals!!!!!! you don't just come up with 12 medals and not know how to mount them. that's ridiculous!

i detect a poser....and that's punishable under federal law.

You don't say what branch of the military you are in. Each branch has regulations on how to wear your uniform properly. You will find your answer there.

(note to itsmy final answer: USAF also has dress blues)

Dito Andy. I am afraid that I am quite skeptical of you even asking this question. If you are AC or RC, in any service, the resources and answers are readily at hand.
