Is it the speed and late reponses? ie: turning left when you are already at the destination and parked... or does the voice remind you of your mother nagging?? what ticks you off about sat nav, and what would you like improved?

Maps not updated as needed is the most annoying thing about sat nav units. I am a truck driver & my company is experimenting with the Driver Tech system. It shows where the driver is in real time, but there are customers that the system cannot recognize or guides the driver to a road that was not designed for a tractor trailer. Sat nav units need to be integrated with google earth or some other satellite photography, so roads can be updated as needed

I already know how to get where I need to go.
I would not trust one of these little POS things to get me somewhere anyways.

I would rather use a map, and know where I want (need) to be.

What really bugs me about them is when I am heading to do something and I get stuck begins someone reasoning with there Garmin.
Trying to get there but you spend 2 hours prepping the thing, then 1/2 the time correcting missed turns.

I rarly miss a turn when I use a map

Other people who use them and pay too much attention to looking at the pretty pictures AND NOT ENOUGH TO THE ROAD.

I was almost wiped out by some crazy woman (I'm female so not sexist) on the M1 who was too intent on watching the screen of her sat nav to notice me.

The way they fall off the windscreen just at a critical moment and one we had (we called her Effal, i.e. Ethel) who got really ratty if we used local knowledge and ignored her instructions - it was the tone of voice "Make a U-turn NOW" (or shall tell your father when he gets in and you will be sent to your room without supper!). That was a Garmin. Our Tom Tom (Jane) she's much more patient.

Whay annoys me most about them is when she says take the next left, or turn left. When actually it's not a turning, the road just vears left.

I then panic thinking I've missed a left turn!

Well I do not have one, but I would be very worried about the fact that it can send you up a one way street, or on a railway track, I think I will stick to my Hubby, he gets me there every time, :}

When it tries to get you to drive the wrong way on one-way streets, ignores dead-ends and in our case the fact it takes almost as long as the journey to program the stupid thing.

The response time. They just process to slow.
Specially if you take a wrong turn and they need to recalculate. WAY TOO SLOW
