This has got to be the most insane thing I have ever seen... its well over 800 Meters tall. (If it get's finished of course)

So tell me what you think. Is something like that really possible? Or will it crush itself?

These are the few timeless symbols of our civilisation. It's an engineering marvel. Nothing is impossible. Dubai is gonna be one of the rocking cities of the world one day, ( actually, it is) I tell you........I've been there.

I'm no engineer but its hard to imagine a building of that immense height. Frankly I don't know why the overly rich prince is building so much there. Dubai is right in a big earthquake zone so I think they are just asking for trouble with all these huge structures and man-made islands. Everything is built on sand basically and even though they compact it and use vibrations to make the foundations more stable, I just think it is a matter of time before there is a disaster there. The rate of speed with which they are completing everything makes me wonder about the structural integrity of it all. Hopefully it all works out though.

well they wouldn't be building it if they thought it would cave in upon completion lets hope it stays it would certainly cause a lot of problems if it fell !! I think it will be awesome when finished !!

It'll probably fall and crush itself.

This construction is tempting fate.
The bigger they come, the harder they fall.
I think the construction is feasible but if something can go wrong it will go wrong - eventually.

i think it could be built. but it does carry a lot of people and sounds really open in harsh weather or an attack on it or something... so...timber!
