I currently work at an airport and a soldier who was here to redeploy to Iraq was about to commit suicide outside the terminal due to his feelings on the war and everything that has transpired in his life since the war. A police officer spotted him and stopped him. (This was about a week ago.)
Do you think more good has come from this war or more bad? And please, give your reasons.
I want to ask here, because this is the section where I spend most of my time.

America started the war she should finish it. Don't let this be another Vietnam. Americans should be of one heart and mind in this war if they want to win it. Nothing can be more demoralizing to the troops in the war front than to hear voices of dissent at home. That's how you lost the war in Vietnam. Americans have no choice on this, whether they are for or against the war. You have to win it. And if you do win it the world will be for the better for it. If you lose it, expect more wars and terrorism in the world.
I am personally against your war in Iraq. But I have to side with the country that stands for world peace.
Peace and blessings!

I think more bad. There have been over 600,000 civilian deaths in Iraq. The majority of Iraqis hated Saddam but think that life was better when he was in power. Iraq had the best health care system in the middle east before the war now most hospitals are barely functioning. It seems as if the inhumane regimes in Abhu Ghrab and Guatanamo were imposed from above putting immense strain on soldiers and inmates alike. Also "special rendition" or torture cannot be justified on spiritual grounds. Overall Iraq is now very close to collapse as a country. It is true that Saddam was a cruel dictator but the situation now is a lot worse and the middle east is now a much more dangerous place. Also the horror of the war must weigh very heavily on the shoulders of thje American servicemen and women.

I think more bad is coming out of the war than good, for most people. There are certainly places benefiting from the war in some ways (USA, KSA, etc), but for the most part, it's causing worldwide tensions that didn't exist before, ruining lives in Iraq and surrounding countries, and well, making everyone hate America.

War is never good - too many people die, are raped, tortured and loose their families. It happens on all sides the only inevitable thing to come from war is misery - there are no winners in war only survivors. Saddam Hussein is gone and the Iraqi people still live in terror, if you are woman in Afghanistan you are more likely to be killed now than you were under the Taliban. We should fight terror but not with war or guns or bombs.

No good ever came out of any kind of war..Only misery.
War is evil and its offshoots are misery, death, poverty and suffering.Whether a war is won or lost it is a harbinger of evil. Those who think they are victorious are only delusional. What is victory worth to a mother who losses a son, a women who looses her husband and for a small kid who becomes an orphan.
War is nothing but evil.

I think it's horrendous.
We attacked a country that never declared war on us under the auspices of "immanent threat" of nuclear attack.. no weapons of mass destruction were ever found in Iraq.. not one... there was no immanent threat whatsoever. We have slaughtered and maimed thousands of innocent people, destroyed their way of life, their land, their homes, et al.. we have sent thousands of our military service members to die for a cause that wasn't there.
This is the worst abuse of power possible for a world leader country to impose upon others. We should be sanctioned and our leaders stand accountable to the U.N. for this unwarranted action. This is exactly why we went to war with Hussein in the 90's.. he was attempting to invade Kuwait (a country that had not declared war on him and had no ability to defend itself).. and people called him a monster.. what are we then? Do we really not understand why we are so hated?
Iraq has NEVER been tied to 9/11.. yet, our ally, Saudi Arabia has.. and we ignore that completely. Something's rotten and it's not in Denmark.

I think more bad has come of it. There was potential for good at the outset, but things were very poorly executed.
If only the US military was taught more cultural sensitivity, and practiced it. . . .
If only individual criminals were held accountable for their crimes. . . .
If only the people who have leadership potential were not afraid to come forward, due to the terrorists and their threats; if only the "security forces" could provide security. . .
If only Saddam's sentence had been carried out on any other day. . . .
If only Georgie listened to his constituency and quit with the arrogance. . . .

More bad. The war in Iraq was poorly planned and we went in for the wrong reasons. WMD were never found.

I care about the troops safety.( I wish Bush did.) It's a futile money pit of a war. We are forcing democracy on people that don't want democracy. We could spend that money on substitutes for oil, health care, and education.

This war should never have happened.
There were other ways to oust Saddam.
Al Qaeda never used to be in Iraq, now it's their playground.
So much death and suffering for what purpose?
I don't see it ending terror in any way, shape or form.
