A garaunteed way to crash my PC. If it's installed, there's no way my PC will restart ... gets to "Your PC is starting up" and that's it. If I restore my PC to before SDS3, it'll startup just like a bought one but sooner or later Software Distribution Service 3.0 rears it's head.

What is it? Why does it re-install all the time? How do I get rid of it? do abuse sending it to me?

Is SPTD.sys involved? if so, same questions apply.
Cheers from Oz

Ok,SDS is not a virus but is related to Windows Update (it's actually the way updates are delivered) so deleting the folder without turning off automatic updates (which is on by default) will only result in the folder being recreated.if you really want to stop it try this site for a way to remove it.

It is pretty obvious you have picked up a virus/malware/bad program, try running a good anti-virus prog (AVG is free) and try Spybot(free) to remove popups etc.
