Now that more and more people are claiming atheism and are starting to finally be fed up w/ alot of the christian extremist meddling and just plain insanity is it possible it will ever turn into a minority religion? Or at least be seperated from government at some point?

It's been fading for YEARS ,but it has become more prominent now due to thier idiocy.

This reminds me of what happened last week.I live in west virginia,in a town full of church-going pill heads, basically. And this one church youth group from North carolina came over here and was giving awa school supplies. My friend, who was not christian, decided to visit and see if he can get some school supplies for his kids. The people from the youth group told him that he couldnt get any supplies unless he goes to the church prayer next door and has to sit there for an hour or so listening to thier rants.Isnt this discrimination??You cant have these school supplies for your kids who need em unless you go to prayer even though you might be muslim, jew, atheist??!! People are starting to realize thier Hypocrisy and leaving the Sky fairy once and for all. : ]

Here's ANOTHER thing iv'e noticed. Why is there more churches than bussineses in the poor areas of our country and less churches, more bussiness in more populated, richer areas?Ive noticed that in every poor wrecthed hick town ive been to,there's a stupid run down church in every block, and it has been that way for years.

Has been maturing though. Some years before, they would have burned you for what you are saying :(

Today, less people refer to God as "He."

In some hardcore catholic families the rules are very strict. Going to bed is at 20:30... Praying is several times a week.

Last time I saw the Dollar, it said: "In God we trust." Despite how symbolically this may be interpeted, depicts quite well the issue.

The USA government has realized the importance of religion in driving their own masses toward a political goal, being the masses as spiritually mature as they are. A team of government psycho-scientists, media manipulators and whoever comes along in the preset package, are ready to serve Christianity because their actual enemy; the religion based mujahedin, is quite powerful. Religion is still a powerful weapon, when handled properly, because it deals with the deepest inner fears of the people.

Christianity, through is practical purposes and as a social phenomenom by itself, is far from being obsolete.

I assume you meant separating from the government the Church as political institution, not Christianity itself.

Not at all. The Christian religion is actually growing very quickly in Africa and Asia. Many areas of the Middle East are picking up converts even though many are doing so at the risk of their lives. As usual, the secular humanist oriented news media is not picking up on this.

It might be fading in America and Western Europe, but then that's just a symptom of a larger moral decline in those societies IMO.

I wish it would hurry up or at least the dam extremist change how they are just going around in any means possible to get people to pin into submission.

They set themselves up to be victims by interfering in others lives saying and displaying hateful and negative things, just to feel like they are being persecuted and use the bible as the way to make it a prophecy coming true.

All that along with using how god would punish people and they would go to heaven as a reward for all that they had to endure.

I would feel bad for the ones that do not go to extreme and that are truly caring enough to not use such disrespect to others to make their point just because of belief. I'm starting to see extremists would be the reason behind a stronger separation from state and religion. They would have absolutely no one to blame but themselves but likely will still blame others anyway.

Absolutely! The world is preparing for the final days. The increase in violence throughout the world, the uprise in school shootings, the discontinuation of prayer in schools, the removal of christianity in public buildings, the eurodollar starting the trend to the single world currency, and the possibility of the computer chip becoming the way we pay for things and for identification, the change of the weather worldwide. Satan is coming folks, be afraid, be very afraid!.......Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it!

What confuses me most is that people view Christianity by what society views it as, and not what it really is. Christianity is not a human concept, it is from God, and thus, cannot be defined by human terms. We can only hope to be as Christian as humanly possible.

One might think so... but when you mentioned in the end, the part about being separated from the government, you have to realize that atheists are predominantly intellectuals, while politics......
I think we first have to get the rich out of the office and the intellectuals in. Maybe that way, American atheists will no longer be ashamed of saying we live in a strongly Christian nation.

Separated from the government, yes. Fade away? Never. More and more Christians are becoming moderate. The Conservative Christian Coalition, while still influential in the US, is losing power quickly.

It is possible. The vast majority of people are now quite uninterested in religion and the Church. However in the developing world Christianity is still a growing religion. In the western world Christianity is just a shadow of its former self

Natural progression of Human Sociological Evolution. Every major religion peaked at one time or another in some part of the world. When Babylon was a massive force to be trifled with, their gods were the main belief of where ever they conquered.

THe Egyptians as well, with the Ancient Dynasties losing political power, so too did the ancient gods' popularity

Some scholars estimate that within the next 60 - 80 years, most of what we now know as organised religions would fade away or be assimilated into some new religion.

Christianity has survived so far, because in the middle ages, due to lack of education of the people and Political Leaders using religion as a way to "control" the masses, with freedom of education and questioning religious dogma not being punishable by burning, impalement and drowning for Heresy or witchcraft...

Many of the previous "Absolute Unquestionable Doctrines" are beginning to unravel at the seams, personally I believe it is not in the Bible, but along history, many pseudo political, religious and wealthy men of power, have manupilated the holy text to justify their greed and lust for power... hence Slavery, Witch Hunts and Extreme Prejudice against anything different.

With better intellect, understanding and logic... people are beginning to truly have a free will to choose and decide without being threatened and blackmailed into submission.

Add: Someone said something about the growing hatred of Christianity is a sign of the end times...etc. but the current age's hatred is NOT towards Christianity but towards Extremist Islam, does that make Islam what Christians call the One True Path?

Christianity and even all religions for that matter is giving way slowly but surely to materialism whom its god.is the gods of technology. Thus, in Revelation 18:2 saying Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great (global city); she has become a home of demons and visitations of evil spirits. But that is the endtime period. However, to start with today for your sake and your faith, the Prophets of old or even today can see spiritual vision. It is because in human sense, they have a third eye so to speak. This 3rd eye is actually their sense of wonder. And they see wonderful creations all around them like the light, the planets, the sun and the universe. And the micro world say men living in the billionth- billionth- billionth of a second, yet we do not perceive this time occurring:before our very eyes or a billion, billlion of years which we dont have the opportunity of experience and perceive them as well. And these are only examples of the servants of GOD seeing them with their third eye or their sense of wonder. Thus, at this point in man's history, we have a book of wonder called the Bible and the christianity that it espouses. Additionally, Christianity is a belief of life beyond the grave; a life even unto eternity or eternal life. And THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the WORD OF GOD about these divine plan for mankind. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the MESSIAH who have redeemed mankind from eternal death or damnation. HE is mankind's savior. For witnesses other than Christians, the Prophet Mohammad in a vision was brought by Archangel Gabriel to heaven and saw THE LORD JESUS CHRIST standing in the right hand of GOD; while Mohammad remained with the audience in a heavenly assembly among the Prophets. St John the baptist was also a witness of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST when he declared HIM as THE LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sins of mankind. And another witness is the Prophet Isaiah 9:6 that states that the one who will be born of a virgin woman will be called MIGHTY GOD, WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR (HOLY SPIRIT), EVERLASTING FATHER and PRINCE OF PEACE. These are one of the many reasons that one should believe the Bible and Christianity as well. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD.
