out of jet li and jackie chan , who would win in a fight?

you cant base the winner off of their movie careers. however, i would side with jet li because of his vigorous training and earned gold medals since childhood.

in the game of martial arts, speed determines the winner many times. the reason why li was give his nickname "jet" is because of that speed which he possesses in real life. call me biased but hey, thats just me.

Both are good fighters and it is hard to tell who is better in a real fight.

Jet Li is much faster and has the best formal Chinese martial art training. He is good at both Wushu and traditional school of Chinese martial arts. Train and spar with some of the best martial artists in China. He is the best example of the traditional Chinese martial artist - honest and humble and train hard all the time.

Jackie Chan, did not go through as much formal training as Jet Li and indeed trained very hard in many traditional Chinese style like Ba Mai, Choy Lay fut, etc. The most important of all Jacki was a BAD boy when he was young. He had been through probably thousands of street fights and became an expert of Street Fight (you can see his "experience" in many of his movies). He can be dirty and cheap when it comes to fighting. You can never tell what he is going to do next.

So, it is really hard to tell who is better in a real fight.

Pure martial arts wise, Jet Li is much better.

Street experience, Jackie is handed down the winner. For most people Jet Li sparred are "honorable" people.

Unless they fight for real, there is really no answer who will win. =P

Both of them are martial artists, but neither has competed in actual fighting competition (kumite, full contact and so on)

Jet Li holds numerous titles on weapon's FORMS, Jackie Chan has trained but also never fought.

They'd do forms in front of each other, Jackie would do something funny, and then both would laugh and go home.

Jet Li would win hands down. Look at the credintials. Jet Li got his start by actual competitive fighting. 6 time chapion I do believe. While Jackie, impresive that he is, has a major theatre background. Jackie is very well trained in the martial arts, he just hasn't competed at the level Jet Li has.
