The recovery time is somewhat lengthy. My wife had it done. There are suction bottles which have to be changed frequently during the first week. Scaring is quite likely although it will be not readily visible. This is a major surgery so you will be sore for some time. However, you will recover. My wife has not regretted hers because the weight was such a problem before. Discuss any questions you have with your surgeon and be satisfied before proceeding.

To the first answerer: suction bottles? HUH? I never had those. What are they? Nor did I have any drains.

There are not really any bad problems with breast reductions. It is one of the highest with patient satisfaction.

I had it done in Feb 2006 and I would have it done again if I ever needed it again!

I had no pain, and not really any complications.

The key word in recovery is patience. I see so many girls complain about their size or their recovery, but you've got to be patient with it. It'll take at least a year to regain nipple sensation (mine came back in three months), final size can take up to a year as well (mine happened around 6 months), and scars need time to fade.

I can barely tell where my scars are. A good surgeon, a good patient (i.e. follows doctors instructions), massaging the scars, and scarguard and mederma help with making the scars barely there.

Check out these sites, especially breasthealthonline (great help with before and after surgery!):

Of the people I know who had a reduction there are no health problems really, only cosmetic. If you have it done you really have to want it, they cut around your nipple, so it stays where it shoulb be, then from nipple straight down and a line under, like for enlargement, but not so pretty! I got one bigger than other, and they hang slightly after 3 kids, went to see specialist but decided as long as they look fine IN a bra and hubby ok with them then I use a 'chicken fillet' to even them up. Look online for pictures and info. Hope you make the right decision for YOU. Good luck. X

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
