Hi,

I'm a 24 year old female and I weight 277 pounds. I want to lose about 127-135 pounds, reaching a goal weight of about 140-150. I'm only 5'5 and don't want to be skinny. I just want to be near a healthy weight. It seems that all weight loss programs and exercise programs are tailored for people that only need to lose a few pounds. How do I lose a large amount of weight? I've tried Weight Watchers, diet pills, Atkins. I need something I can stick with. I hate chicken and fish and I love red meat. What do I do?

Or find a personal trainer and go to a gym.

Find what motivates you the most to lose weight, because as you know being overweight can cause heath problems. Use photos of those most important to you to help motivate you when it feels like its getting to hard or so.

Weight Watchers IS designed for people who need to loose lots of weight. Maybe you just didn't like the suggested food?

The only secret to losing weight is that you MUST burn more calories than you consume. It's that simple. So, start keeping track of calories you consume daily, making your goal about 1300 - 1500 for starters. Then get moving. Do anything that you like that gets you active. Ideas:
swimming
running
volunteer to walk dogs at the animal shelter
raquetball or tennis
sex
rock climbing
take kickboxing classes
belly dancing
yoga or pilate's
lift weights
bicycling
rollerblading

You get the idea. Bump up your consumption of water and fruits and veggies, and get moving!

dont bother with weight watchers or atkins.
its just a big old waste of time and all you end up doing is worrying about how much you're eating all day!...

find a sport you love
go to the gym or to a dance class or whatever with a friend or two, and get a fitness regime you enjoy and youll then probobly stick to it!
Start to swim every morning or so, can be a great start before work as it really freshens you up.
avoid running on hard ground/pavement as you dont want to damage your ankles until youre properly into the exercise

as for diet, cut down on meat and up your veggies and fruit. find something you like to eat with oily fish (tuna sweetcorn pasta or whatever) and eat that, but start looking up vegetarian food. dont have too much salt either, and drink lots of water...

this isnt going to create miracles but i hope it helps set the ball rolling.

Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

Every body and every person is different but this is what worked for me... I was 200lbs and went down to 170lbs in less then two months.

Cut starches out of your diet the best you can. You wont be able to cut them out entirely but that doesn't matter. Just cut them out as much as you can.. Starches like breads, pastas, chips, potatoes and flours need to be eaten as little as possible. No candy either.

Eat meats, cheeses, veggies and water. And eat as much of them as you wish. Eat fruit for desert.

As you change your diet you also need to work out. It doesn't matter what you do to work out, just do it! Run or walk, swim or tread water... just do something that makes your heart pump faster. You don't have to do the exercise great, you only need to do it and make your heart and body work harder then it normally does.

I suggest you swim. Water is easy on the body and works the entire body all at once. Don't feel that you need to swim laps with the pros, you only need to tread water, tread laps or walk laps. Water is your friend!

Commit to this for 2 weeks and you'll see the difference. Once you do see this deference you'll keep on this diet and keep loosing weight.

replace your scale with a tape measure aim for 32 1 2 inches or less for women and 35 inches or less for men
