A drop of almond oil gently dabbed above and under the eyes keeps the skin there smooth and supple. Regular application is a good preventive measure. Almond oil is very fine-textured oil that is easily absorbable, giving the skin a plump, healthy feel. Don't rub very hard the area around the eyes. Apply used chamomile tea bags after you have chilled them. Tannic acid in the tea has an astringent effect that will shrink swollen tissues. Chilled cucumber slices can also be placed over the eyes, but their action is gentle and only useful for crow's feet a few days old. Grated potato wrapped in a cheesecloth works faster
1. Powdered fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) and milk are said to tackle darkcircles. Apply a paste of fenugreek mixed in milk on dark circles in the night. Wash off in the morning and watch dark circles vanish for good.
2.Soak cotton wool in cucumber juice or potato juice & apply around the eyes to get rid of darkcircles.
3. Freeze grated cucumber. Massage the grated cucumber ice cubes on the eyes.
4. For eye puffiness, any tea bag (herbal is better, especially eye bright), slightly cooled, placed on the eyes while you rest.
5. To lighten darkcircles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
6. The best overall eye tonic for under eyes darkcircles cure is eye bright (an herb). Make a tea of it and either use the tea bags or soak cotton balls or soft gauze in the tea and apply to eyes as a compress while lying down.
Some Tips for treating darkcircles::
** Use sunscreen every day and moisturize in the night preferably using a good under eye cream.
** Get enough sleep. Try to have regular sleeping hours. Odd sleeping hours can flare-up the problem of darkcircles under eye.
** Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Iron deficiency can be a cause for darkcircles around the eyes.
** Drink 8 x 8 glasses of water each day to hydrate the skin.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Check around the makeup counters at your local department store and find a concealer that really works with your skin and is a consistency you like. Ask the salesperson to show you the proper technique to apply the concealer. I really like Philosophy's eye care line and they're great about giving out samples so maybe try them first. Good luck!

Drink lots of water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken and fish. Exercise every day, and sleep at least 7 consecutive hours in each 24. You should see a difference in just 7 days and if you can keep it up they should be gone in 4 weeks.

slices of cucumber, loads of water and get 8 hours of sleep
and recently there is a product from Clarins for dark circles which actually works.

I like the frozen spoon technique. Place a metal spoon in the freezer, press it against your eye, voila. I tried this once and it worked really well for me.

If it's a constant issue, I'd invest in one of those freezable facemasks.
