It appears from the answers thus far that everyone is a homegrown American drinker. But, the best tasting beer would be a Bavarian, Czech, or Belgium beers. Most of the beers made in the US are brewed with rice. Because of the bitterness the beer has to be drunk very cold. In Europe rice is forbidden, in some cases by law, from being used in the brewing of beer. Thus the beer is sweeter and is drunk at 48 to 55 degrees. Now, as to the best beer I have ever tasted: There are two. Lowenbrau vom fass in a small Bavarian village. It was so golden in color I thought it might be work $535.00 an ounce. And Schwartz beer. A black beer from the Thuringer region of southern Germany, formally in East Germany. Very dark and wonderfully smooth.

My personal favorite is Guinness!
I am a fan of dark stout and porter beers, lots of flavor in these.
I also enjoy a variety of Micro Brews since they offer a lot of unique flavors.

It depends on the season. So right now wheat beer is the best! Liene's Sunset Wheat, Boulevard Wheat, and Sam Adam's Summer Ale are my favorite wheats.
