Cheaper way to do it - buy some childrens powdered poster paint mix in the colour you want - add gradually to the paint to get the shade - all waterbased so does not cause problems - Works a treat as my son's bedroom will testify - all walls are different bright colours (his choice by the way)

I've learned in that situation, the wall itself may have been introduced to different elements that has caused the effect to happen ONLY on one wall. Maybe it had previous water damage or possible it wasent painted the same way as the rest of the house. My best suggestion to fix the problem is get paint remover and a hand sander. First, removed the paint you just applied off the wall. Then sand down the wall from all the previous layers of paint that have been there so it all nice, smooth, and even. Then, reapply the color of paint you like and use a primer to be applied first! Because your in a Kitchen, make sure you think of all the heat and/or coldness that wall will be effected by so you know if you need, gloss, semi-gloss, or flat paint to make it last. I know it'll take some time, about a full 8 hour day, to undo what has been done, but if your going to be there a while, it might be worth the effort! Good Luck!

I was in a paint store and saw tubes (like toothpaste ) of very powerful primary colours. Red, Blue, Very bright yellow, specifically for adding to paint at home. Biggest problem was that they they were expensive, and it would have been better to have had them mixed in-store on their machine.

I buy my paint at a paint store.
They have color choices and use a tube of color and mix with white paint.
They also have a shaker machine that mixes it well.
They keep a record of my formula that I choose.
It is the very best paint and it is worth it.
It lasts at the very least 10 years or more.
It covers better too.

Your problem will come when trying to match. Better go to a decorators' shop and let them mix the colour you need - they would then know the formula to match it at a later date.
