I'm happily married but it all went so quickly the day we got married, we want to do it again - just privately for us, maybe abroad as we didn't have a honeymoon. Is it legal to do it twice?

You can't actually get married again but you can do two things. you can approach your local church ,It might be the same one you got wed in,and arrange a blessing service . The vicar or minister will put you right on procedure, A registrar of births ,deaths and marriages can carry out a confirmation of vows ceremony for you if you don't want a religious service. This is what my wife and I did when we celebrated our ruby wedding. We hired a hall and invited lots of guests, as many as we could from our original wedding ,unfortunately many had died, and a few we could not locate. The registrar came to this hall and conducted a half hour ceremony,it was very nice, just like the wedding again. You get a certificate saying you have confirmed your original vows. We had to pay a fee to the registrar, about £150.

It wouldn't be a second wedding, instead it is a vow renewal. Going to an exotic location is a fabulous idea!! And it will give you the chance for a second honeymoon! Most people wait until their 10th anniversary for a vow renewal.

Sure you can, it's just renewing your vows, and you can do it however you want to, with just the two of you and the celebrant and have a party after, or do it just like your wedding, with invitations and a reception after, or do it as part of your regular church services. Some religions, for example Episcopalians, even have special prayers just for renewal of vows.

It is legal to renew your wedding vows. Many people do this. You can have essentially a new wedding, but you won't need a license this time.

Kinda but it's a renewal of vows.. you have a ceremony and reception and everything. You just repledge everything all over again.

You can have another ceremony, sure. Lots of people do it. It's called a "recommitment ceremony" or some other phrase.

However, your original wedding date is the legal one.
