I would say Mike Tyson and Jack Johnson. Marciano also threw good uppercuts in close (which, to be fair, was where he did most of his work).

I would say that George Foreman and Mike Tyson had the best uppercuts I've ever seen. I will never forget the uppercuts that Foreman hit Frazier and Norton with, I mean devastating. Tyson also threw really vicious uppercuts when he got inside on another fighter. Marciano also had a mean uppercut as well.

Heavyweights are never real good examples of uppercuts since they don't have the flexibility. They step in and throw them with the arm and back foot rather than the hips working.

Tyson threw nice looking ones due to his lateral style but at the top level rarely could knock anyone out with them. They were not really a power punch for him.

You want a good heavyweight uppercut artist. Do a search and try and get some footage of george chuvalo in the late 60's, early 70's who fought ali around those times.

Chuvalo could throw lead left uppercuts and counters from outside ...to the opponents body! And it hurt fighters so bad they would be scared to throw back at him.

otherwise study lighter fighters. They throw them properly.

Tyson is one of the top guys but not the only choice for sure.

Marciano had vicious uppercuts, Duran had beautiful uppercuts, Robinson had an absolutely destructive right uppercut that he could throw off his jab. There have been others most great punchers have great uppercuts.

People forgot that James Toney threw nice uppercuts by him being a inside shoulder - roll type of fighter. Also Zab Judah uses a nice left hand lead uppercut. He used it against Cotto and stunned him several times even though he did get KO'd himself.

George Foreman about picked Joe Frazier up with an uppercut. An acquaintance of mine, former Lt. Wt. champ Sean O'Grady could throw a good uppercut. He demonstrated his technique to me.

"Iron" Mike Tyson no doubt! Remember those devasting uppercuts he landed on Marvis Frazier? I thought he had killed the man, brutal KO! His post fight comments after beating Frazier were outrageous but that sure caught my attention. From that day on I became a Mike Tyson fan!
