you need to use force. raise your voice to her now that your an adult your on her level. to her how much you hate it. if that dosent work take her alcohol and dump it down the drain. thats what I did with my sister

Take care of yourself. Your mom won't get better until she wants to no matter what you do or how you feel. Alcoholics and addicts are some of the most selfish people in the world, and they are the only ones important to themselves. Find a group for Adult Children of Alcoholics and attend regularly. You have a lot to learn, and this has affected you more than you realize already. Don't let her ruin your life too. Be proactive and learn now how to counter the effects of her drinking in your life.

Yeh she needs to want to help herself. Try to make her realise that shes hurting you by drinking and that she has a drinking problem. If you can tell her this while shes sober it should help. If you've tried everything and your sick and tired of it all, just visit less often. Your mother is not your responsibility, you are hers. It should never be the other way around. Good luck

Tell her you will not come to see her if she is drinking. Once you are there if she starts drinking leave. You can not help and addict. She has to want the help and want to stop drinking. I strongly suggest you go to an Al-Anon meeting. You will find support and ideas of how best to deal with your mother and cope with the situation.
I am truly sorry you are going through this. Be strong and hang in there.
Best of luck to you!

Next time she drinks video tape her w/o her seeing you. When she sober show her the video. This might be the incentive she needs to seek help. It is really sad that you have to go through this I know it must be tearing you up. Good luck!

Intervention, you need to get the whole family over there early in the morning before she wakes up, when she is more sober and have everyone explain it to her. Contact the AA support groups. They also have groups for aftermath victims like yourself. you can also video tape her actions and replay them for her when she is sober. but you need to do something tonight and first thing in the morning. She is crying out for help with her actions. something needs to be done other wise one of these days you'll go over there and find her face down in the tub. If you love her get an intervention going.

She has to want to help herself. Just make your visits few and far between, and very short.
