...to be a citizen? most people trying to get into this country legally, but they have to take a citizenships test first.
so do us americans know the answers to this test? we should, otherwise, that means every (legal) immigrant in this country knows america better than americans!
here is the link to a hypothetical but accurate citizenship test:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19552808/
immigrants must make 80% to become naturalized, most americans don't even make any higher than 60%

It is funny Sergio how many people just by reading your question automatically assume that you are not an American. I can't believe some of the answers you receive. I will be honest with you, I could not answer all of them correctly. I am an American and proud to be. Alot of people take the fact that they were born here for granted. I guess the ones who passed the test are not so smart making accusations about you before they knew the truth, funny they tend to do alot of that. Some people can be such burros, but of course they would never admit to that now would they.

I got only two wrong, and one of them was about some naturalization form that a person born in AMerica has no need to actually know.
Truthfully, College graduates would do poorly on this test.
I think we are testing the wrong things on the test for citizenship. We should test concepts that ensure that those who want to be a citizen know what is expected of them. THey should not learn history but the principle of what makes up America. Frankly knowing who was our first President doesn't ensure we get a good citizen.

The point is that very few Americans know about matters outside their county or state. I was seeing a Jay Leno show before the 4th july. Quite a few people did not know who America got independence from. This is a sorry state of affairs and speaks volumes about the knowledge base of an Average Amercian. Fortunately there are quite a few Americans who are well versed in matters that count but they are a minority. That is why the immigrants are doing so well in US.

I got a 95%. Although the link didn't explain which one I got wrong, I am assuming that I got number 19 wrong, which was the only one I took a random guess at. I would find it hard to believe that many Americans who already were born citizens would know how to apply for citizenship.
Although many of those questions were quite easy, I think that a few of them were too hard.

Would you want an immigrant to be naturalized that received a 20% score on the test?
I wouldn't.
It's a bit of a double standard, but you can blame our education system for that.
It doesn't change the fact that immigrants should be loyal to this country if they want to be here. And they should be happy to do so because they are seeking a better life for themselves, and we can provide that for them.
EDIT:
I took the little test, and got an 87%. It's a fair test.

returned in the 70's I used to think of the Eagles have been lame, yet now I sorta sing alongside with the motor vehicle radio. A cousin of mine died in a van twist of destiny in 1977 and that i inherited a number of his album series. between the 20 or so LP's grow to be an album by skill of Foghat. Take Me To The River grow to be on that album. Drivin' Wheel i think of grow to be the album - I nonetheless have it there someplace in the fruit crates alongside with approximately seven hundred+ others I nonetheless carry directly to for some reason. thank you for making me think of roughly my cousin Timmy this night. as quickly as we've been boys, we desperate to throw some rocks over his exterior fence. We knew we've been being undesirable, yet we purely laffed at each and every toss, questioning what the unknown aim grow to be. One ultimately hit paydirt, and we heard glass breaking. We appeared at one yet another in horror, and that i reported him to no longer tell. yet he grow to be an undemanding boy, greater desirable than I, and he went directly to his mom and instructed her the reality without hesitation. there grow to be this entire drama that spread out, and he instructed me some weeks later that each and every of the neighbor needed grow to be for him to accomplish a little yardwork to paintings off the damages. Timmy taught me an early lesson approximately honesty and its rewards. His mom purely handed directly to the excellent beyond approximately 3 months in the past... Mary & Timmy Hedges - R.I.P.

70% I was disappointed
But remembering I was educated in the UK, and live in Canada,
not too bad
I wonder how Americans would do on a test in a foreign country

I took it and got 100 percent correct answers. I guess that makes me eligible, beyond being born in the U.S.
I was a little surprised that I got them all, as I did have to make a couple of very educated guesses.

I scored 100% without cheating. I guess I get to stay.
The guy above me doesn't make any sense. Why would he want to lay down his life for a country that he doesn't even understand? I love being American and I actually care about this country's history and political system. I don't think I should have to know these things to be a citizen, but I don't get why anyone wouldn't want to know these things.

This is a naturalization test. Not a test to come here. I would pass with flying colors if I had several years to study.
We all have tests we have to pass, even if we are born here. They have to do a little more work to come here and stay, but if they want to be here so bad, they will do it.
