Now the Devil is separate from the Anti-Christ he empowers.
John mentions the antichrist(s) as "him".
Revelations also refers to "Beast" as the Antichrist that Lucifer raises up as a "him".
--
I John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
II John
7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Revelation 13
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
----
I think that pretty much says it all.
God Bless you

tesserthequestor, dear heart, like Brett, I am of a mind that an 'Antichrist' was no more than an invention. As a filmmaker, I see the possibilities of depicting the 'Antichrist' as an unbelievably beautiful woman, perhaps Asian, say Vietnamese, or better yet, Japanese, a geisha of the old school. There were Christians in Japan before WWII, and during that war they were persecuted by the militarists which brought Japan down to defeat. Nothing of "Madam Butterfly" about it, of course, but a global story. Does she come to the USA before Pearl Harbor? Or maybe to Rome, to the Vatican, where not the Pope but an Italian high-up in RC politics surrenders to her charm and beauty. An unhappy ending, I guess, unless my atheist bend comes into play. Great idea, thanks for igniting it, Princess Mine!

I believe the Antichrist is the exact opposite of Jesus. The opposite of man is woman, so, I believe the Antichrist could be a female. Just a thought.

When the bible mentions this word it is usually in the plural sense. Antichrists. Anti is the greek word for against. Anybody who is against Christ is in fact an antichrist. The catholic church tried for some time to scare people with An Antichrist, but it didn't fly.

The anitchrist is a male as describe in the book of Daniel:
Daniel 11:36And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Daniel 11:37Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
Daniel 11:38But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Daniel 11: 39Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
