ok so, example: i lied about something , but i know i was in the wrong and i ask gods forgivness after telling the person i lied to the truth. when judgement day comes, and i still going to be judged on that lie. basically, if i'm forgiven here, when i go to heaven, will my sin still count against me? i've wondered this since i was a little girl... thank you!

If you lie, you ask for God's forgivness, honestly, then when judgement day comes, you will be judged on forgivness. Whether you even dared to ask and whether you accepted God's gift. Not the sin.

When God said : " All your sins & lawless deeds i remember no more". Do you think God is kidding? When He said "All"..it means all - you past, present & future sins/wrongdoings which you might commit. All your sins HAVE BEEN forgiven! To say that some are not, it is an insult to Jesus Christ's work at calvary!
However, knowing that all your sins have been forgiven, would u want to purposely go out & sin?..i think we wont because Jesus has paid a great price for our forgiveness. This makes us wanna love Him & honour Him more!

And also we will not be judged again..there is a law of double jeopardy. A crime cannot be tried/judged twice. You know why? Because Jesus has been judged on the cross by God when He was carrying all our sins! He was judged on our behalf..therefore we are free from judgement!

This truth will set u free from sin indeed and from self-condemnation!

As I understand the Bible, there will be 2 judgements : the Great White throne judgement, when those who have not accepted Christ will be judged. Rev. 20: 11-15. It mentions books being opened. The Book of Life is important. If we have given our lives to Christ, and asked forgiveness for our sins, and put our trust in His death on the cross, and trust in Him to save us, when we do that, our names are written in the Book of Life and we become His children (See also John 3:16 and Romans 8:14-17.). Those whose names are written in the Book of Life are the ones who will go to heaven.

If you are a Christian (you didn't say if you were or not), then after becoming a Christian, if you do something wrong, you need to turn away from it, and ask God's forgiveness for it, right away. (It sounds like you have done, or do this, according to your question.) When you do, you are immediately forgiven.

This is a promise I have stood upon for many years:
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Any sin that we have done, if we have done that as I mentioned above, is completely washed away and will not be held against us when we go to heaven. See also Psalm 103:12. I usually try, daily to ask God to show me if there is something I have done wrong, and if He does, I then I ask Him to forgive me. Once it is forgiven, I don't allow the devil to try to condemn me for it, and I try not to "be hard on myself" either, because if God has forgiven me, that's what counts.

The other judgement, which is called the Judgement Seat of Christ, is for Christians. It is actually more like an "awards day" where we as Christians, will be rewarded for things God has given us to do, which we have done since becoming Christians. See I Corinthians 3: 9 - 15. It appears that this judgement is not dealing with sin, because if we've confessed it, it has been forgiven, washed away because Jesus blood was the price (penalty) that has been paid to take it away. But the judgement referred to here is like for example if God shows you a lonely person and you befriend them, or shows you a poor person to help, or you have a good attitude when going through hard times (trials), or you faithfully seek to bring others to Christ, these are things God will reward.

I hope this helps. There is also a book you might like called "A Life God Rewards" by Bruce Wilkinson. It's available from Amazon.com.

no. when u r forgiven, your sins cannot be held against u. we are all born sinners and it's when we repent and stop sinning (asking God for forgiveness and turning ur life around), that we are given the chance to enter God's kingdom. when u r forgiven, u become pure in God's eyes but if u dont ask for forgiveness, it'll surely count against u until u let ur pride down and tell God that u r truly sorry. being forgiven is being pure.

Speaking to Christians Paul writes, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." 2Co 5:10

"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames." 1Cor 3:11-15

As I read it what happens with Christians is that their sins having been forgiven those parts of their lives in which they sinned are erased (burned up) and consequently they lose any potential rewards they would have received for those parts of their lives, but are rewarded on what's left over.

Everything that we have said and done, before and after we are saved, we will be held accountable. That's why on judgment day Jesus will be on the mercy seat, saying to God the Father whether we have been forgiven or not. And Just a little reminder, being a Christian means we are to conduct our lives as Christ did his earthly physical walk. To help you out here a little, read you Bible daily and seek to understand what you read as God intends for you that day. And never make time for God! God is supposed to be our light, our light for life's journey. Prayer is important and meditation is also important! While it is important to pray it is more important that we listen to God and see what's up! Ho! He is! Hallelujah!

The most important thing is to constantly repent of our sins and trust in God's infinite and loving mercy!! God's mercy is greater than all the sins of earth combined. I'm sure God has forgiven you if you ask for forgivness. Keep in mind that only Satan wants you to feel guilty and make you think that your not forgiven! Keep praying and trusting in our LORD Jesus Christ! God bless.

"It's an insult to God when you think your sins are greater than His Mercy."--Mother Angelica

Romans 6. Will help you to understand the meaning of your salvation. You did not state if you were a Christian and accepted the atonement. All have sinned and all fell short of the glory of God. It is the reason Christ came to the world. Those who accept the atonement are by faith made new. I say by faith because we are still in our flesh in this sinful world. You said that you did not agree with what you did. this says a lot as Christian do make mistakes as we are in our flesh. We who have accepted the atonement do still make mistakes but do not serve sin. We do not continue in sin. we are by faith changed to God's rightousness and we will literally be changed after we have passed from this world. Christ died once for our sins and does not die over and over and the penalty for the sin of one who have accepted the atonement is paid. We are not judged by our sin but are saved by Christ righteousness. This does not mean that a person could serve sin and still be saved. We belong to who we serve. The fact aht yous ay you do not agree wiht what you did shows you are not serving sin but made a mistake and we will make mistakes we are saved by faith and have not litterally died and been made new but by faith are new creatures.

In line with islamic teaching God will not forgive you if you are doing the same other lies after you asked God's forgiveness.Every one in resurrection day will be judged again by God but if you did not tell the same lying it will be deleted. If you had other bad doings it will be compensated by good doings. If you had many more good doings than bad doings and you believed only to one God you will go to heaven. But if your bad doings were more than good doings and you did not believe only to Allah the only one God you will go to hell.

.
.
no you will not judged,
once you are forgiven then you are sure forgiven for-ever
in regards to that forgivnee.... but
below is the answer which i have previously for a
question like this which may clear your doubts mostly...

one has to define first what does it mean by
"CONFESSION"

when one has known what does it mean by "CONFESSION"
then YES, GOD forgive every thing... every thing at all,
no doubt at all, but with that strict .... other-wise
no one is spared..... no one at all...
