Don't ever try to argue intelligently with a Christian. You can't argue with faith. Faith expects you to be blind to reason and common sense. You can't have Faith in something that you cannot see, touch, smell, taste or hear and question that faith at the same time. Faith means it exists and you do not question or suggest it is not real. May as well argue with a wall.
Oh wait, I just re-read your question. You are not a very good Christian are you? You just admitted that there is "no concrete evidence" to support the existence of your god. Read my above paragraph, it's about you.

The Bible also says to have a ready defense ready in case someone asks questions. Paul defended Christianity in Athens to people looking for proof and so we must be ready as well. Will it be able to prove 100% what we believe? No, but it can point people in the right direction by showing that faith and logic do not have to be mutually exclusive. God loves all his children and wants them all to come home, so if proof of the Bible or God is needed we better be able to provide something or that person might be lost forever instead of a seed being planted. Apologetics is a needed field in Christianity today and people need to understand what they believe to be ready to defend it.

waste? arguing? I think people like you are WASTING time in ARGUING that God doesn't exist! One atheist told another, "man I have worked 40 years writing books, making speeches, trying to probe that God is nothing..." The other thought for a second and than replied, "Oh man, does that mean we waste our time on nothing?" You see? You can never probe that God doesn't exist because He is God! HE IS GOD!
As of the blood shed in the name of faith, it was done by atheists pretending to be Christians! Also, trust me, A LOT MORE Christians have suffered in fires and such for believing in God, and it's yet to come again! A lot more blood has been shed in the name of power and money! Real Christians are not in the governments or politics! I dont' think it's that hard to understand!

Hmm, in simple terms pick to characteristic that there is a Bible in Prague, a capital in Europe that became written via a guy of the Catholic church. The specific with this Bible is that the guy who wrote this Bible did it after he had a nightvision wherein Lucifer himself asked him to jot down this Bible. perchance it is the comparable with the actual Bible. somebody for an exceedingly long term in the past have been given a imaginative and prescient approximately something and commenced to retell it for people who then, interior the tip, improve into printed interior the Bible. inspite of what the Bible is i ought to admit that i appreciate a e book for being so nicely usual for many of years.

Good question. I think many just like the way the words look, or don't realize what a waste of time it is (or maybe they just have time to waste). Either way or neither way, as long as there is religion, there will be those that constantly feel the need to prove it (or disprove it) and I doubt that this fact is ever going to change.

..... actually there's no need for argument; God would still exist even if nobody believed he did. The Bible's for our benefit, not his as..... He knows who He is. Why does he need to write that down? He's not dumb, we are. So it is for our benefit to try and test the 'spoken' word of God that we have the bible ~ the written word.
What would God be without the Bible?.... um, still God;
But see... one of the marvelous, wonderful things about us (human beings) being created in the image of God is that we have consciouness and intellegent thought.... the reason that He gave that to us is so that we COULD THINK, test and try not only his word, but contemplate His Existence.
See, it is only in searching for the truth that one finds it. (Jer 29:11-13). And if one is really looking for it..... he or she will have to think about what they believe..... and evaluate their thoughts on things. If someone is searching for God, then he or she needs evidence that God exists, so it has to be 'prooved' to the individual that God IS before they can choose to believe that He's Saviour. And God's got no problem with that. He's God, He lives, so why would he be afraid of a little investigation into His existence, nature or character? I doubt he's nervous about it.
So, salvation isnt for dummies...... and yet, you'd have to be a fool to make yourself disbelieve that God lives.
Faith plays a part yes, but to not use your brain is a slap-in-the-face to the God that gave it to you. He wants you to proove it to yourself for the sake of your soul, not because he's worried if He's real or not.
Proof of God leads to stronger faith for some individuals.
what you've said is really closed-minded and says you dont evaluate your beliefs much. which isnt good.

I am a Christian and I don't waste time arguing the Proof of God or of the Bible.
There is not proof of God in science or the bible. God existence is assumed in the bible.
There is a revelation spoken by the prophets. You either believe it or not. There is no proof for it; just the words of the prophets.

first time I read the thing on faith that you just pointed out, was by joseph campbell, I have thought about that for a few years,
I think your answer lies in the definition of a religion.
you can absolutely prove god to yourself, but not to others.
I can take most people and convince them of the possibility of god in about 20 min. but unless they look for themselves, they will never know for sure.
you also point out how many people have been killed in the name of god, I do not think that those people got the entire point to god or religion.
my views on faith end up matching the cathars, remember, the group of people that catholic people wiped out and tried to erase all history of them.

I agree that we shouldn't argue, but we should give testimony and a reason for our hope and faith in Christ.
"But dedicate your lives to Christ as Lord. Always be ready to defend your confidence in God when anyone asks you to explain it. However, make your defense with gentleness and respect." I Peter 3:15

Revelation comes only from God man does not prove God. I can only plant a seed and another can water but only God will make a tree.
