I am only 17 and I have lines/wrinkles under my eyes.I don't tan or anything like that.I think they are lines because they are these straight long 4 lines going straight across the undereye area and it makes my eye area alittle droopy. They never go away and i think i have them because i have really dark circles under my eyes and i have been using concealer since i was about 10.They get worse when i smile or wear concealer because then it looks like i have about 7 lines.I also have something that looks like crows feet.I don't understand why I have them.Is there anything out there that would work for me to get rid of them?

My total empathy. The wrinkles under my eyes always make me cringe. Here's what I would have told my 17 year old self:

1. Dave don't rub your eyes. Please resist the urge to rub your eyes. The skin under your eyes is super sensitive. Please don't rub your eyes. You got a cute doberman pup at 22 and were allergic and rubbed your eyes vigorously. Now you have permanent wrinkles. Don't rub your eyes dude.

2. Dave don't wash your eyes with soap. Soap dries out the skin. Your eye skin is super sensitive. Just wash with water in the shower. You'll look fine don't worry.

3. Dave use "Jamieson Vitamin E Eye Cream with CoQ10,Vitamin K, and Cucumber Extract." It hasn't taken your wrinkles away, but it softens your skin and makes the dark circles fade for a time.

4. Dave give "Vita-K Solutions" a try. The reviews on the net are good. You know Vitamin K is used by surgeons for healing skin after surgery and your good ol' Jamieson's has it. Just remember to watch your skin like a hawk to see if it's drying out. If it is STOP!

5. Dave wear SPF 45 or 60 sunscreen. Make sure it's UVB and UVA. SPF only measures effectiveness against UVB. UVA is what ages your skin. Make sure the sunscreen has an effective UVA blocker (Parsol 1789 or Avobenzone with Octocrylene, which stabilizes Avobenzone under sun exposure; Mexoryl SX, Mexoryl XL or both, Titanium Dioxide). Neutrogena is good. Ombrelle is better. Wal-Mart's Equate brand is good, but on your poor face, which bears numerous sun wrinkles, use Ombrelle. It's more money, but, I don't think your appearance can take another wrinkle.

6. Dave eat more fruit. Stop the fries, the burgers, the pizza, the pop and all the other crap. That stuff is toxic "basura" (Spanish for garbage). Eat tons of fruit. Apples, Strawberries, Melon, Watermelon, Grapes, Pears, Kiwi, Peaches, Nectarines, Oranges... Fruit is a high water content food. It will clean you right out. Just don't eat it with anything. Wait for 20 minutes after eating fruit to eat something else. Wait 3 hours after eating any concentrated food (meat, carbs) before eating fruit. Your body is 70% water dude. Eat something which is also mostly water too (and loaded with vitamins and minerals!)

7. Sleep'd probably help, but you're studying so it's hard I know. I'd say forget University dude. It cost you thousands and you learned diddly. Go into Carpentry now dude. You'll be making money fast and there's tons of work and it'll keep you in shape. Just wear a lot of sunscreen and a legionnaire style hat (baseball cap with cape that protects neck and ears).

8. Wear sunglasses. Make sure they're 100% UVA/UVB protection.

Keep asking questions dude and you'll keep getting answers.
Take care of your eyes.
Look at Cameron Diaz.
Poor girl looks so much older with those Crow's Feet she's got going on.
Same for Angelina and Brad.
The sun wrecks your skin.
Moisturizing routine is essential.
Eat fruit.
Wear sunglasses.

There you go Emma.
My advice to 17 year old me and you.
Oh yeagh, I'm 27 now and rue all my years I didn't know how to take care of my skin and nobody taught.
Why does school force Biology, Chemistry and Physics on us, when what we need is Cosmetology?
I'm totally serious.
Bio, Chem and Physics have proven useless in real life, but Cosmetic stuff, every single day I wish I understood what Methyl, Butly, Iso whatever was and actually does.
School has to become practical.
At the moment, I think, it's pretty worthless.
I'll make sure it's not like that for my kids though. trust.

Calum, two things, first off always use a mild facial cleanser to wash your face. Stay away from acne cleansers/bar soaps. Those tend to be brutal on the skin by over drying the skin. Over dry skin = wrinkled skin. I recommend Neutrogena Natural - it's a mild cleanser. Second a good eye cream helps. This is what I've been using for the past 4 yrs; Extreme Eye Rescue by Isabella Pelle. It's a highly concentrated eye cream, that I apply twice daily. First in the morning after washing my face and then at night after I shower. Hope this helps.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

The fact that you have been using makeup since you wear 10 probably didnt help. Make sure u get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated.
