Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. -Gen.2:24

Literally it involves marriage... when a woman marries a man they should build their own home leaving both of their parents. It is not good for a married man and women to stay at the custody of their parents. When we start to get marry, we should stand on our own feet, and build our own foundation for starting a family. The married (husband and wife) should love each other because they are already united as one under their marriage.

EPHESIANS 5:22-33
22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Gen 2:24 Matt 19:5 Mark 10:7 1 Cor 6:16

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

The verse before Adam takes Eve as his mate. So it goes on in the next verse as to the fact that a man takes a wife and starts his own house. Rashi, the 11th century biblical commentator, states that "one flesh" refers to the mitzvah of "pru v'revu" (go forth and multiply)- in that the fetus is one flesh- made from the separate flesh of husband and wife.

To my understanding, since God created a human being from Adam's (which is a man) bone/rib, she was called a women.

Adam and Eve are one flesh and bone. Therefore, should he (the man) leave his father and mother, he should go to his wife (a women) to become one again. In other words, man need women in order to complete their life cycle.

When two people are married in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, the are spiritually united. What God unites only God should seperate through death. Marriage and the family represents God's own nature of having an eternal relationship as three beings :Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God bless.

When a man and woman are joined in marriage, they are to leave their families and start a new one. The sexual union in marriage represents the bonding of God to those who believe in Him, commit their lives to Him, and follow Him. They become one being in God's eyes just as He and His followers are one.
Many marriages fail because one or the other of the partners refuse to grow up and make their mate the number one person in their lives. They cling to "mommy and daddy" and will put their parent's opinions before their spouses. This is why God says to leave your parents and "become like one person" and put each other before anyone else.

Because god had made eve from adam, they were really one and that the bond between a man and his wife is the complete bond. That's how I see it.
