Sounds like you need a position rather quickly, you may want to to consider a temp agency, it is a good way to get into the the job market and see what is available.
Monster. com is legit, but is not for everyone. I have known numerous people that have used it, and none of them found positions through them. However, it could just have been the local area.

It is a real website. However, i have never had any solid leads or received a job via Monster.com. Good luck! I need a personal assistant if you ever move to AZ.
