Is it possible to love someone without making love to them?

My girlfriend gave me an ultimatum.

The ultimatum was either have sex with me or I'll tell everyone you're gay.

People who love other people don't usually give them ultimatums. They usually provide a rationale. If your girlfriend doesn't want to make love because she feels that it is not right to do so due to her religious beliefs, that is one thing. But if she doesn't want to do it because she wants to use sex as a weapon or carrot (and you know she has been with other guys before you), then that is a problem.

This works both ways, of course. People should only make love when they feel comfortable with it and should not be told what their emotions are based upon what their actions are (for example, "If you love me you will make love with me..." you could also say, "If you love me you will run down to the 7-11 and get me a Hershey bar..." and what does that prove?).

Yes, and no. No human being can love somone forever without making love to them, the temptation will always be there, and they will always crack. However, love and making love are completly different. I love my woman, but she's a couple countries away. Thus the sex part, not so much possible. She's testing you, i'm sure she doesn't mean forever, but if you can't date somone for a while without demanding sex, you don't love her in the first place. Goodluck. She sounds like a good girl, hang on to her, and treat her right.

Yes, men are more vulnerable than women to have sex to only please the animal senses. From evolutions' perspective it's clear that it focused on men being more sexual oriented to guarantee the continuation of the species. At the same time women's focus was to be family/loyalty oriented in a way to be more choosy about whom to choose as a husband, so as to guarantee he will not leave them with their children without bringing food and security. But I am sorry to dissapoint you to this fact, and I also have good news. There *are* men who have got control over their desires, and know exactly what they want and what kind of women they will fall in love with. You don't have to worry about it, and all you should do is act your role as a woman and be choosy. And.. is that $500 offer still going?

She gave you an ultimatum to do what ? Is she holding sex over your head.Let me guess, she won't give it up until you marry her. I'm from the 60's and i think it's crazy for any female to hold out until marriage.
I want to know if i was marring someone who knew his way around a female. I wouldn't want to brake anyone in just like i wouldn't want them to brake me in.

I would say a relationship that could do that nowadays would show the deepest love possible between two human beings.

However, on a personal note, if I was the gf--well, I couldn't go w/o sex if it was a serious relationship, lol.
