Is it a good career path?

How much does it pay?

How much school/college?

Anything else?

-Thanks!-

I'm not really talking about being a doctor, more like just someone who takes x-rays or does sonograms (if I spelled it right, lol)

I'd like to know where Justin thinks rad techs make $60,000 a year. That would be nice.

There is different schooling for x-ray and sonography (ultrasound). It is a very good career. Pay differs based on location, type of facility, etc. Ultrasound pays more than x-ray. School is generally 2 years full time (40 hours/week).

I used to be in the major until I switched.

It's definately a good major to get into. Anything in health care as a matter of fact. Our health care facilities are always growing and you will always have a job.

It will definately pay very good. Starting salaries are descent, being around $60,000 a year on average. I would think of getting a minor too (mine was business management).

The one I was in was a 2-year program, but it was a bachelor's degree and they can be very competitive to get into.

Also, check out Ferris State University if you're around the Midwest (Michigan, Ohio, Illinois). They're a great college for Radiology, but their wait-list is exstensive.

A Radiologist is a M.D. You have 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school 3-4 years of internship and residency. Pay is between $200,000.00 and $300,000.00 a year. But remember you will have a lot of debt and make very little money during all those years of training. It is a long road but well worth it. Good Luck!
