I think I'm underweight. I am 13 (going on 14), 5' 0", and weigh 87-90 pounds. If I am underweight, what would be a good and healthy way to gain weight? (besides junk food) And what's the average weight for someone my age?

You are underweight. Your BMI is 17. Healthy is between 18.5-24.9. I would reccomend meat, grains, and peanut butter. Maybe work out a little? But you're only thirteen, you'll grow.

Average weight for a girl your age is 101 lbs. Average height is about 5'2". Considering that and comparing the chart I'm reading, I think you're right in the healthy range. You definitely don't need to gain more than 5 lbs, and you'll gain that without really trying if you want. Don't worry about being a couple inches shorter than average . . . you are probably still growing, and even if you aren't it is extremely rare for girls to have problems with being too short (within reason, of course, and you're past the point of being too short anyway). Good night!
