Press the PRT SCRN button, which will put the entire computer screen on your clipboard, and then paste in your preferred photo editor.

once posted on youtube, simply go to the section of the video you want the picture to be of and pause it. from here all you need to do is press the print screen key on your keyboard. this automatically captures the image on the screen of the computer and copies it to the clipboard. after you have done this, open up Microsoft Paint and go to edit -> copy. this will make your screenshot be displayed and it should be a simple process to select the video area with the marquee tool and copy that area. once the are is copied, go to file-> new in MS paint and once again go to edit->copy. this should have your screenshot of the video perfectly captured. now all you have to do is save it out and go about the simple process of posting this as the picture for your video. I know that this sounds complicated, but these are extremely detailed instructions, and after the first one or two times doing this process, you will have it committed to memory and it will be very easy to do very quickly and efficiently.

When you want to get that picture, press "Print Screen" (next to F12) then open up paint, right click and press "Paste" then move the screen shot, and edit the dimensions to match the width and height of the vid.

get some free screen capture software on the web. I can't make a suggestion because I have my own. I know there is freeware though. Just type in free screen capture software in your browser.

Press the "Print Scr" button next to "F12" and then open paint or photoshop or something and then paste. Then select what you want using the select tool and then crop or just copy and paste your selection somewhere else.
