Man keeps both dogs and cats as pets.
The distinct difference between the two, is the following:
Cats are curious and secretive, and they don't develop much of a trust in man.
Dogs are straight forward and are filled with a beautiful quality called "Gratitude". If you scratch a dogs head, the dog (mans best friend) never forgets and shows "Gratitude". They will develop a trust in man through this quality called
"Gratitude".
There unfortunately are humans that have or show very little
"Gratitude", for anyone or anything. This is why man can at times have more love for dogs than other human beings.

Dogs are man's most faithful and loyal friend. It feels sad when you are sad and it feels happy when you are happy. It wags it tail to see you off to work and receives you a joyful bark and a lick when you come home. When you get angry and beat it when it has done something you did not like it still receives you with a joyful bark and lick when you come home from work. Its the most happiest of all when you come back after a business trip away from home for a few days.
APart from this it guards you and your home. It would happily give up its life to save you.
These are a few things which only a dog can do and thats why it is loved more than any other animal.

My dog doesn't give me crap.
She listens and just snuggles and plays and isn't judgmental.
On a human scale the only other time I received that totally unbiased love is from my nephew who has autism.
I know that sounds strange but there is a lady whose name is Temple Grandin, awesome lady who has autism as well.
She works with animals and has made many comments on how animals are much easier to get along with, for the same reasons I just listed above.

Dog is full of compassion,faith,love and trust. This is the reason why people love their dogs. Dog guard the house.
Dog is the best friend of person .

Because it is faithul and keeps excellent guard over the house. Besides it is so lovely in many cases.

Because you get to take care of them, which makes you feel good inside :)
And also because they don't talk back...etc. Basically, they are sweet and friendly and aren't human. :D
