I usuallly am home alone with my sister on weekdays but we still have some freedom to walk places most of the time. My dog is an English Springer Spaniel, medium sized, very friendly, and pretty mellow (he's not really into chasing tennis balls or toys most of the time, although he can get a little hyped up sometimes especially around other dogs) PLEASE GIVE ME SOME GOOD IDEAS! I get so bored and love dogs so....please :)

why don't you work on getting your canine good citizen from the AKC, then pursuing a Therapy dog certificate, since he is not hyper and medium sized, he might be a perfect candidate for this very rewarding type of hobby/work....

OOOHHH i love answering questions like this! I am a fellow dog lover as well. Well, I have a pug and we got to pug meetups together, maybe try checking your local English Springer Spaniel meetups. Meetups are basically groups of people who share the same interests. Or try going to dog parks together !

Try working on field trailing or agility training with him, you can get a good instructional book at your local book store. Invite friends to bring their dogs over and let them play, if you play out door games with your sister let the dog join in.

My sister and I used to play badmitton out back and our pup would run around the net nipping at our heels and stealing the birdie. ;P

Oh, also even though the pup isn't into toys she might be if you were playing keep-away with a Kong toy, especially if there was peanut butter and kibble inside.

Definitely try agility! It is fun for both you and your dog. Check around to see if there are any training clubs near you.

swim swim swim....are you near a lake? my dogs love to swim, its great exersise, you can teach him to retrieve, although he already has the breeding to do this. Ive found this activity wears them out while still keeping them cool. have fun.
