They aren't going to...just so you know.

I bet you $1 that nothing will be done and they will keep coming. The next time, they will be trying to get amnesty for 30 million.

Carlos---no where did I say that I did not want our laws enforced. I am simply stating that regardless as to what our demands are, they aren't going to do anything. At least not where I am at. I know that for a fact. I was told by more than one elected official that they didn't enforce the immigration law here.

As long as you have a Liberal Bias` Media that dominates their pages with "their agenda" that they are in full support of doing nothing to stop the influx of Illegals !! As long as they can keep the citizens in two groups, arguing among themselves , distracted with any news that is no news with articles full blown on their pages that keeps the fires` of disagreement among the people burning . You can see what happened when the people ( Rep. & Dem. ) united on the issue of No Amnesty for Illgals . The press and all the news outlets were shocked ! Now , what the proponents of Yes to Illegal Amnesty expect us to do as citizens is go back to sleep so they can gather their pride, cover their losses , and contrive a way to get a new false agenda that will fan the flames of antagonism between the "people" again ! How many negative arcticles did you see in the Bias` Media before"we the people" got involved about this Illegal Amnesty Bill ? 0 -zero ! Why ? Well , after all this is Ted Kennedys` 7th Illegal Immigration Bill in 21 years and he`s the darling poster child for the "Socialist" in this country , and the less that was said about the 1st six bills being useless , and nothing had been done on any of those previous Illegal Amnesty Bills to stop the flood of Illegals ,then their hope was that if the people aren`t reminded of the failure of the 1st six bills , then we can just blow this one by the American citizens all over again and they won`t realized what happened . So , yes I do think that enforcement will now be a reality as it should have been 21 years ago ! If Reps. & Dems alike will keep putting the welfare and soverenity of the USA first in their minds and we all stay wide awake , and we all watch each others backs , like American citizens are supposed to do , then we can all help get this Nation where it needs to be , together ! God Bless You , and God Bless America .

Completely agree. We haven't enforced those immigration laws for years and the more the illegals keep pouring in, the less likely it will become because there will be so many more people that there will be no way in h&&* that we'll be able to deport 20,30, or 40 mil if we can't deport 12!!

Well it has been made abundantly clear that the current administration will in fact do nothing to address the problem of illegal immigration. HOWEVER, we will be voting into office a new President in, what now, seventeen months. It's clear that the American people are ANTI ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and will research the candidates and vote accordingly. The wall will be built, the laws will be enforced, and more stringent penalties will be in place sooner than later.

Actually the States are taking action to enforce the laws in and with the cooperation of ICE on both the employers - businesses, and the illegals being arrested and deported.

I think the public backlash when the federal courts try to stop the states from taking action will have a large impact on the federal government.
We need to continue to voice our demands to our officials. Those facing re-election must listen or lose their seats.

I beg to differ. Illegals have woken up a sleeping giant. The majority of American people are against it and are speaking out about it. I live in Arizona and I've been emailing, calling, and faxing my reps everyday letting them know that I don't support illegal immigration. Our governor just signed a new law this Monday that will suspend the licenses of employers found hiring illegal immigrants. I wrote a letter to Mrs. Napolitano to thank her as soon as I heard the news.

Wanda: In case you don't keep informed with current news:
This get-tough attitude with businesses is growing across the US. As of April, 40 other states had introduced 199 bills related to employment of undocumented workers – the top subject of immigration-related legislation in the states, according to a report for the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL). Although Arizona's new law is apparently the harshest so far, Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Tennessee, and West Virginia are still in the process of enacting legislation to force employers to verify their workers' legal status, cautions Dirk Hegen, an expert on immigration policy at NCSL. Now that federal immigration reform has stalled in Congress, more states are likely to act, he adds.
