for:
1 - charity. like it or not, it's true - religion brings out the 'give' in people.
2 - respect for authority. but this can also be a bad thing. see below.
3 - choral singing. if you like that kind of thing.
against:
1 - education. take your pick: 'learn' to repeat the established dogmatic line, or actually *learn* to expect and discover new truths. that's science 1, religion 0 baby
2 - justifiable homicide. nothing makes you feel good about killing your fellow man like having god on your side. infidels at 6 o'clock! pow! pow! pow!
3 - unthinking submission to authority. but this can also be a good thing. see above. wait a minute. screw it. that's another bad thing, isn't it...

The Good:
1. Religious people accent my intelligence.
2. Some people NEED to be threatened with Hell to be good people.
3. Religious people are entertaining, in the same way a dog chasing his own tail is entertaining
The Bad:
1. Where do i start? Ok, The belief in an afterlife causes people to fly airplanes into buildings.
2. Religion restricts free thought, art and human progression.
3. Religion promotes racism and arrogance. "We are going to Heaven and everyone else is going to Hell" mentality.

Similar to what others have said but I just wanted to point out that many times under the guise of charity work attempts have been made to convert people and spread another religion i.e. Christianize Africa or Souther Asian countries etc. There are also historical instance of taking Native children away from their parents and embedding Christian/European ways into them (i.e. In Canada). I consider this a negative because it is all a matter of beliefs and being disrespectful to the beliefs of another is not a positive in my book.
