It's the law. Also, it's dangerous to run a red light as you might get hit by oncoming traffic.
How is this an "age-old question" exactly?

I think this is supposed to be clever in some way and it went right over my head
Atheists stop at red lights just like you because we obey the law just like you. One might ask why do YOU stop at red lights. Are you afraid God will let you get killed?

Wow, this wasn't an relaxing comedian tale in any respect. asserting atheists do no longer understand what to do approximately issues is notably plenty asserting they have not got morals, which isn't hassle-free interior the least. There are some christians that "study" or "persist with" their non secular ideals, yet do no longer actual persist with them in a ethical experience in any respect, and rather conceal at the back of them. basically as some atheists do with existence ideals. basically as some buddhists do with their relgious ideals. basically as some from any non secular or non-relgious historic past do as nicely. there's a piece of people from any group of concept it is responsible of "sin". no longer having a non secular determination does not inevitably make you a foul guy or woman.

Great question.
The other day I was driving down the street following this car that had one of those fishies on it...you know the one.
The car comes to an intersection and stops.
I don't know what the hell he is waiting for or why he stopped, as there was no stop sign to stop for.
So my question is, do all Christians see imaginary stop signs as well?

Because there concerned about dying, they understand that the only conciseness they will ever enjoy, is the time between their birth and the last moment of death. There is nothing else, they 're in no hurry to try and make the cut to a heaven that isn't there. Its a survival mechanism.

If you are talking about the traffic lights, then for the same reason everyone else stop. To obey rules.
