Don't try to understand them they are a cult that was made be man and influenced by the devil.
Nothing that they believe in can be considered christian when you really look at it
they also change the bible to make it seem like it tells them they are gods and that all they believe in is true but it is a very different book that the true bible
its just a evil cult that uses Christianity and alters it to suck people in and lie to them
just ignore them and feel sorry for them

Look again at John 1:1:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was WITH God, AND the Word WAS God.
Now, how could Jesus be WITH God, AND at the same time BE God? How can anyone be WITH someone if they ARE that someone? The verse does not say "...was the Word and the Word was WITH Himself, and the Word WAS Himself".
You give what could be a plausible explanation for why Christ called out to His Father on the cross. But what about in the Garden of Gethsemane? He was quite lucid then, not in pain, knowing exactly what He doing. He prayed that His disciples would be one as He and the Father were one. Does that mean that Jesus wanted all his disciples to join to become one person?

Well, Joseph Smith said, in his final version of his first vision, that God introduced Joseph to His Son Jesus (but didn't introduce himself - God needs no introduction) who was right next to him. Mind you, Smith didn't mention this until years after the fact, so it must have escaped him with the Moroni-Gold Plates thing taking up so much of his time, plus the endless 'private' treasure hunts.
Taking this into account, why would God select a mindless, clueless adolescent with a history of storytelling and money digging to be His Mouthpiece? An All-knowing Deity would have known from the get-go this guy wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. And why did Jesus appear to so many other people at around the same time period with all sorts of different messages? And why hasn't Jesus appeared to a Jew (and gotten the needed publicity) yet to set things right?
Oh - I forget - there is no such thing as christianity. Sorry for inferring I bought into this discussion.

Mormons believe, like you do, that God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit, are in fact 3 Gods and not "three in one" as the rest of Christianity does. I believe in the "three in one" concept. Let's not forget, the "plural" passages talking about God are in the Old Testament. The Jews did not believe in Jesus or the Holy Spirit, so how do you explain the plurality? The Hebrew word for a (one) Hippopotamus is a plural word. Why? Anything that big is just plain plural. Various words for God in the Old Testament have various connotations attached to them, which describe the nature of God being emphasized in the particular passage. There is a word for God, one God, "the God", that is plural. Why? It has connotations of "God is so big, he's plural". As Christians, we may look at these passages from a revisionist standpoint and say "well, the plural here stands for Father, Son and Holy Ghost", but we must still grasp that if that is a meaning, then the passage has a double meaning, so we should not focus on the second meaning to the exclusion of the first.

Because we know that they are separate. People have seen them as separate beings. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He even said so. In the Bible. God was his father, and our father, in heaven. Again, how many time must this be said, a Christian is....
1. (Christianity) A believer in Christianity.
2. (Christianity) An individual who seeks to live his or her life according to the principles and values taught by Jesus Christ.
No where does that say that a Christian believes in only one God, or only in the trinity, or anything else that mainstream Christians believe in. It is not a right, but something you feel is your right. I doubt they come by once a week and "harass you" if you tell them you are not interested, then they wont "harass you" You can be put on a list and they wont come by your house at all. How is that?

Unfortunely I can defend the mormons in this because I am an ex-mormon and now christian, mormons do not know that some christian/theology believe that god and jesus and the holy ghost are seperated, unfortunetly it is true, not all christian that are not LDS believe in the trinity because they find it hard to comprehend. Those christians see us trinity believers as believing in more then one god because we mix the three in one, and that they can work as seperate individuals, but forget that they are ONE.
Yes Mormons are the worst idol worshippers because they see themselves as Gods and tske their eyes off of God. I could not handel a God that was a coward (as a mormon) and make his son die for everyoen, so when the concept of the trinity was indroduced to me, I was all for it. No other christian faith claims to evolve into a God and that Jesus and satan are brothers ect.

Mormons do not believe that we will become gods.
2ndly we believe that JESUS is GODS only begotten son.
Jesus came to be our example and died onthe cross to wipe away our sins that we may be able to live with god again. He also was resrreceted to show that we can be reserrected.on the cross he was talking to god.
The reason why they knock on your door is the want to explain about mormonism.just let them come in and talk you don't have to get baptisted or anything after you talk to them.

wrong - the only things christians commonly believe is that jesus is the christ and that he died for our sins - believing in "multiple gods" (which isn't even true) might differ from your religious beliefs but Mormons are still Christians!
